తాజాగా కన్నడంలో ఘన విజయం సాధించిన సింపుల్ ఆగి ఓందు లవ్ అనే సినిమా రీమేక్‌‌తో తెలుగు ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చాడు. కన్నడలో రక్షిత్ శెట్టి పోషించిన పాత్రను తరుణ్, శ్వేతా శ్రీవాస్తవ కనిపించిన పాత్రను ఓవియా పోషించారు. దర్శకుడు రమేష్ గోపి రూపొందించిన ఫీల్‌గుడ్ ప్రేమకథ ప్రేక్షకులను ఏ మేరకు మెప్పించిందో తెలుసుకోవాలంటే కథలోకి వెళ్లాల్సిందే.

ఇది నా లవ్ స్టోరి కథ

అభిరామ్ (తరుణ్) యాడ్ ఫిలిం డైరెక్టర్. తన చెల్లెలు ప్రేమించిన వ్యక్తితో పెళ్లి జరిపే విషయంపై మాట్లాడానికి తన కాబోయే బావ చెల్లెలు శృతితో మాట్లాడానికి ఓ గ్రామానికి అభిరామ్ వెళ్తాడు. కానీ శృతికి బదులు అభినయ (ఒవియా హెలెన్)ను కలుసుకొంటాడు. తొలి చూపులోనే అభినయతో ప్రేమలో పడుతాడు. కొద్ది సమయంలోనే వారిద్దరూ ఒకరికొకరు దగ్గరవుతారు.

కథలో ట్విస్టు

తమ జీవితంలో జరిగిన ప్రేమ వైఫల్యాల (బ్రేకప్‌) గురించి అభిరామ్, అభినయ ఒకరికొకరు చెప్పుకొంటారు. అలా వారి మధ్య ప్రేమ బలపడుతుంది. అంతా సవ్యంగా జరుగుతుందనుకొంటుండగానే అభినయ ఫిర్యాదు చేయడంతో అభిరామ్‌ను పోలీసులు అరెస్ట్ చేస్తారు. ఆ క్రమంలో అభినయ గురించి ఓ భయంకరమైన విషయం తెలుస్తుంది?

అభినయ గురించి తెలిసిన భయంకర వాస్తవం ఏమిటి? అభిరామ్‌పై అభినయ ఎందుకు పోలీసులకు ఫిర్యాదు చేసింది. అభినయ ప్రేమను ఏ విధంగా అభిరామ్ పొందుతాడు. అభినయని పెళ్లి చేసుకోవడానికి అభిరామ్ ఏలాంటి సమస్యలను ఎదుర్కొన్నాడు అనే ప్రశ్నలకు సమాధానమే ఇది నా లవ్‌స్టోరి సినిమా.

స్క్రిప్టు, డైరెక్షన్ విశ్లేషణ..

కన్నడ సినిమాను తెలుగులోకి రీమేక్ చేయడంలో దర్శకుడు రమేష్ గోపి తడబాటుకు గురైనట్టు చాలా సందర్భాల్లో కనిపిస్తుంది. సన్నివేశాల నిడివి పెరిగిపోవడం సినిమాకు ప్రధానంగా మైనస్ పాయింట్. ఇక మితిమీరిన డైలాగ్స్ ప్రేక్షకుడిని సినిమాపై దృష్టి కేంద్రీకరించకుండా చేస్తాయి.

స్టోరీ అనాలిసిస్

ప్రేక్షకుడికి ఆసక్తి కలిగించే విధంగా కథనం లేకపోవడం దర్శకుడి వైఫల్యం కొట్టొచ్చినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది. కథ, మిగితా విభాగాలపై దర్శకుడు పట్టు కోల్పోవడమే సినిమాకు అవరోధంగా మారిందనే భావన కలుగుతుంది. సినిమా మొత్తం రెండు పాత్రల నడుమ సాగడం కొంత అసహనానికి గురిచేస్తుంది. కథలో ట్విస్టులు, ఆసక్తికరమైన సన్నివేశాలు లేకపోవడంతో సినిమా వేగం తగ్గినట్టు కనిపిస్తుంది.

ఆకట్టుకొన్న తరుణ్

కెరీర్ ఆరంభంలో లవర్ బాయ్ ఇమేజ్‌‌ను సొంతం చేసుకొన్న తరుణ్ ఆ తర్వాత వైఫల్యాలు వెంబండించాయి. దాంతో కొంతకాలం సినిమాలకు దూరమయ్యాడు. తన ఇమేజ్‌కు తగిన కథను ఎంచుకొన్న తరుణ్.. ఈ చిత్రంలో తన టైమింగ్‌తో ఆకట్టుకొన్నాడు. అదరగొట్టే డ్యాన్సులు చేశాడు. కీలక సన్నివేశాల్లో హావభావాలు ప్రదర్శించాడు.

ఓవియా హెలెన్ గ్లామర్

గ్లామర్ తారగా పేరున్న ఓవియా తన నటనతో కూడా మెప్పించింది. అయితే గ్లామర్‌ను అంతగా పండించకపోవడం, మేకప్, క్యాస్టూమ్ విషయంలో అశ్రద్ధ వహించిందా అనే అనుమానం కలుగుతుంది. గ్లామర్ విషయంలో దృష్టిపెట్టి ఉంటే మాస్ ప్రేక్షకులకు ఓవియా చేరువయ్యేది.

సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ సూపర్

ఇది నా లవ్‌స్టోరికి ప్రధానమైన బలం సినిమాటోగ్రఫి. క్రిస్టఫర్ జోసెఫ్ సినిమాటోగ్రఫిని అందించారు. అందమైన లొకేషన్లు ఆహ్లాదకరంగా ఉంటాయి. పాటల చిత్రీకరణ బాగున్నది. చాలా సన్నివేశాలలో సహజసిద్ధమైన లైటింగ్‌ను వాడుకోవడం దర్శకుడి ప్రతిభకు అద్దం పడతుంది.

శ్రీనాథ్ విజయ్ మ్యూజిక్

ఇది నా లవ్‌స్టోరి సినిమాకు మ్యూజిక్ అదనపు ఆకర్షణ. శ్రీనాథ్ విజయ్ అందించిన సంగీతం, బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ ఆహ్లాదకరంగా ఉంటుంది. ఇక ఎడిటింగ్ విభాగానికి చాలా వర్క్ ఉందనడానికి అనవసరపు సన్నివేశాలు చాలానే కనిపిస్తాయి. ప్రేక్షకులను విసిగిస్తాయి.

ప్రొడక్షన్ వ్యాల్యూస్

ఇది నా లవ్‌స్టోరి సినిమాకు నిర్మాతగా ఎస్‌వీ ప్రకాశ్ వ్యవహరించారు. లోకేషన్లు, సాంకేతిక విభాగాల ఎంపిక నిర్మాణ విలువలకు సాక్ష్యంగా నిలిచాయి. సాంకేతికంగా ఈ సినిమా చాలా రిచ్‌గా కనపడుతుంది.

ఇది నా లవ్ స్టోరిలోని మొదటి భాగం చాలా నిస్సారంగా సాగుతుంది. కథలో దమ్ము లేకపోవడం, డైలాగ్స్‌లో అతి సినిమాకు ప్రతికూలంగా కనిపిస్తాయి. ఫీల్‌గుడ్ కథను దర్శకుడు సరైన విధంగా చెప్పలేకపోవడమే ఈ సినిమాకు మైనస్ పాయింట్. సెకండాఫ్‌లో కథలో వేగం ఉండటం ఓ పాజిటివ్ పాయింట్ అని చెప్పవచ్చు. ప్రేమకథా చిత్రాలను ఆదరించే వారికి ఇది నా లవ్ స్టోరి నచ్చే అవకాశం ఉంది.

'Idi Naa Love Story', starring Tharun and Oviya in the lead, hit the screens on Wednesday on the eve of Valentine's Day. Let's find out what works and what doesn't.

Abhiram (Tharun) comes to some scenic place to see Dr. Shruti (Oviya), the sister of his sister's boyfriend.  As his luck would have it, she is alone at home.  Our cute lover boy decides to share his failed love story with the girl.  

As his bad luck would have it, the girl too has a love story.  For no rhyme or reason, they imagine each other while narrating their flashbacks.  

By the interval, Abhiram comes to know that Dr. Shruti whom he was supposed to meet is not in the town at all.  He has been talking to Abhinaya.  

The second half is about how the male Abhi and the female Abhi fall in love for one final time, but not before a twist by the latter.

What works:

The music works to some extent. Srinath Vijay's music is best heard as distinct from the movie. In the movie, the songs hinder the flow and so, it's difficult to feel them. If Christopher Joseph's cinematography is fairly good anywhere, it's in the songs.  

What doesn't work:

This remake of a Kannada movie named 'Simple Aagi Ondh Love Story' is an experiment that should have been avoided. The director (Ramesh Gopi) had a story where almost all the scenes are between the lead pair. And they have to keep talking and talking over a span of one day. One has to pen solid scenes to keep the audiences engaged in such a backdrop. However, the love stories that Tharun and Oviya narrate to each other are laughable.

In one of the scenes, the heroine wants to water plants when it's raining. The hero points out its raining. And she tells him, "Just because we know we are not going to have children, will we stop doing 'samsaram'?" 

In another scene, she says that dog biscuits don't contain a dog in them, while cream biscuits contain cream. There are many dialogues about dogs. In one more gem of a scene, Tharun says that many of the married ones pretend that first night is happening to them for the first time.  Our suspicion is that some Bajrang Dal member wrote the dialogues to harass lovers on this Valentine's Day. 

In another scene, Oviya tells the hero that her favourite star's movie is being aired on TV. Guess who is that star? Manchu Manoj. 

The heroine tells the hero she has a disease. "I am doing Aloo Paratha. Tell what it's after I am done," he tells her. This is when the power supply goes off. She is in a red sari. Our hero gets romantic. It's time for a duet. To hell with the disease.

Most of the second half is spent on Tharun's old love story. But there is no justification for this either. In the very initial scenes, he makes it clear that he doesn't care about his past lover anymore. Then why spend so much time on it?  

In Oviya's love story, her old lover (also played by Tharun) is a painter who dumps her.  It's difficult to feel anything strongly about her love story, as she herself doesn't care about it anymore.  

Performance score:

Tharun may not be as young as he was in his prime, but he is fairly lovable. He is convincing in those dances and the expressions and dance moves in the songs remind one of his 'Nuvve Kavali' and 'Nuvvu Leka Nenu Lenu' days. His dialogue delivery has matured, probably because his voice and the art of modulation have changed for the better.  

Having said about Tharun in the film's pluses, let's talk about Oviya's performance.  The Bigg Boss sensation (in Tamilnadu) is a huge letdown. Her dubbing, the lip sync, her comic timing - everything is too poor.  

All the other actors are seen in bit roles and there is nothing much to write about them.

Bottomline :

After long gap, Tarun has returned to silver screen with 'Idi Naa Love Story' but this ranks top in his bad movie's list. This is lousiest movie. Utterly nonsensical scenes, laughable dialogues in serious scenes, a forgettable performance by the heroine. Only Tharun is something worthy to write about.
