Education is an essential part of our lives. We are nothing without knowledge, and education is what separates us from others. The main step to acquiring education is enrolling oneself in a school. Why I Love My School?

From kindergarten through primary and secondary school, and subsequently, to faculty, school is a place where we always study, grow, and establish ourselves, socialize, be a friend, help others, and love and be loved. School is a buddy that will accompany us from the beginning of our youth till the conclusion of our lives. At school, we share all of our pleasures and sorrows, and we constantly rely on one another. This is made possible through the friendships we share. They assist us in effortlessly overcoming difficulties, sharing moments of enjoyment together, and looking forward to new paths.

My school strikes the perfect balance between modern education and vintage architecture. The vintage buildings of my school never fail to mesmerize me with their glorious beauty. However, their vintage architecture does not mean it is outdated, as it is well-equipped with all the contemporary gadgets. I see my school as a lighthouse of education bestowing knowledge as well as ethical conduct upon us.

Teachers have the power to make or break a school. The teaching staff is regarded as the foundation of any educational society. It is their efforts to help kids learn and understand things that instil good habits and values in their students. While some concepts are simple to grasp, others necessitate the use of a skilled teacher to drive the home the idea with each pupil.

In contrast to other schools, my school does not solely focus on academic performance. In other words, it emphasizes on the overall development of their students. Along with our academics, extra-curricular activities are also organized at our school. This is one of the main reasons why I love my school as it does not measure everyone on the same scale. Our hardworking staff gives time to each child to grow at their own pace which instils confidence in them. My school has all the facilities of a library , computer room, playground, basketball court and more, to ensure we have it all at our disposal.

For me, my school is more than simply an educational institution; it is also my second family, which I established during my childhood. A family of wonderful friends, outstanding teachers, and fond school memories. I adore my school because it is where I learn how to be a good citizen and how to reach my goals. School is the only place where we make friends without judging them. We feel comfortable spending time with those close friends no matter what the situation.

School is an excellent place to learn how to be an adult before entering the real world. Those abilities pay dividends whether you choose to be the bigger person in an argument or simply complete your domestic tasks. When you open your mind to new ideas, you gain a lot of influence in society. Picking up unexpected hobbies on your own will teach you more about what you like to do than simply completing things for a grade.

A school is a place where I developed my artistic skills which were further enhanced by my teachers. Subsequently, it led me to participate in inter-school completions through which I earned various awards. Most importantly, my school taught me how to face failures with grace and never give up on my ambitions, no matter what happens.

Schools also offer a variety of extracurricular activities such as Scouts and Guides, sports, N.C.C., skating, school band, acting, dancing, singing, and so on. Our principal also used to give us a short lecture every day for about 10 minutes about etiquette, character development, moral education, respecting others, and gaining excellent values. As a result, I can claim that what I am today is solely due to my school, which is the best institution in my opinion.

Teamwork is an important ability that schools teach. Schools are frequently the first places where youngsters have the opportunity to collaborate with children who are different from them. Collaboration is essential for the team and individual success. Students are taught that the success of a team depends on each individual component functioning together.

The place where children as the leaders of tomorrow study and where the future of the nation is shaped are called schools. Education is an essential weapon for tomorrow, so the good schools of today are important for the best future of a nation. Schools are the center of learning where we attend classes on various subjects, interact with the teachers, get our queries

answered, and appeared in exams. In my school, learning is more like a fun activity, because of the extra-talented teaching staff.

My school is a government primary school located on the outskirts of the city. Usually, when people think about a government school, they perceive it to be at an isolated location and have poor basic amenities and teaching facilities. But, despite being a government school, my school defies all such speculations. Teachers of my school are not only knowledgeable about the subjects they teach but also are skilled enough to teach through fun activities. For example, our physics teacher explains every concept by stating real-life examples that we could relate to. This way we not only understand the subject better. Moreover, not a moment I remember, when any teacher had ever replied rudely to any of the students. They always patiently listen and provide answers to all the queries posed to them. Learning at my school is fun and it is made possible only because of the teachers.

My school is very important in my life, in a way even more than my family. My family gives me love, care, and affection, and provides for all my other essential needs. But, all of this isn’t enough to make me a good human being and succeed in life.  Favorably, I am lucky enough to be enrolled in a prestigious school, and gaining a wonderful education, looking forward to realizing my dreams one day. The most necessary for success in life is education, and only my school provides it to me. Without my school and the education that it gives, I would be like a confused and wandering soul, almost aimless in life.

My school helps with my educational and overall personality development. It imparts education through classes, tests, and exams to teach me how to conduct myself confidently. It just feels so great to be in my school and be a part of everyday activities, be it lectures, sports, or Something else. While in school, I always feel happy, confident, enthusiastic, and loved. I make friends at school, those whom I will never forget and will always love them. My family supports my materialistic needs, but school is the place where my actual physical, social, and mental development takes place.  I know that every question that crosses my mind will be answered by my teachers. I also know that my school friends will always be at my side whenever I need them to be. As much as the studies, my school also stresses much on These activities as the management thinks that extracurricular activities are very essential for our overall personality development. My school provides dedicated teachers and staff for each extracurricular activity. We have a big sports ground with kits for all the major sports; a covered auditorium for dance and music and a separate basketball court.

The role my school plays in my personality development is fantastic. It not only imparts education in me but also teaches me how to conduct myself and how to behave decently and properly. I get trained in all the other necessary skills of life, like how to keep calm in challenging situations and help others as well. My school teaches me to be a good and evolved human being, to stay composed and progressive always. It also teaches me to be kind and generous to others and not differentiate them based on their caste, religion, ethnicity, or other divisions. These are some of the most essential personality traits that my school imparts to me, something that I will always be thankful for. Every time I think of my school, I think of it as a temple of education. A temple, where my soul meets education, making my life more meaningful and useful to society and the nation as well. It is a place where my aspirations get a wing and I get the strength and confidence to realize them. No other place in the entire world could replace my school and the role that it plays in my life. I will always be thankful to my friends, teachers, and the staff of my school, for making it such a comfortable and Educational place of learning.

Introduction:

Education in India has made significant progress over the years. Both private and public schools facilitate education for Indian children and follow the same regulations for teaching curriculum. All schools incorporate extracurricular activities into the school systems, which motivates the learners and help them in realizing their talents and building their personalities. Schools are funded by the three levels i.e., the state, local and central levels. Schools in India cover primary, secondary and post-secondary levels of education. The highest percentage of schools offer primary education.

Crescent public school:

My school is a public institution that is located in Delhi. Crescent Public school was established in 1987 and it has been in operation ever since. The school is well equipped in terms of facilities as we have a gym, a library, a nice playground, our classes are modern, the buses are adequate and labs are functional. I joined this school in the year 2016 and I have been able to learn a lot about the school. The school is affordable and the education I have received is quality because I have developed in all aspects of life.

Not only is the school excellent in education, but also excellence in sports is achieved. I have always loved playing tennis. I participate in the school’s tennis competitions. In the year 2017, we won the Bronze medal in the national tournament by CBSE. This year, we secured third position in the same sport, which was an exciting experience for both the students and the teachers. It has been a great experience especially with support from our teachers.

Introduction

My School, St. Mary’s Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School is located in Armenian Street, at the heart of Chennai City. It is one of the oldest schools for boys in India, established during the British rule.

“Viriliter Age” which means “Act like a Man” is the motto of my school. It aims to provide a family atmosphere for us to become intellectually enlightened, spiritually profound, emotionally balanced, socially committed and morally responsible students.

Though built during the colonial rule, the buildings are airy and comfortable. The Management regularly upgrades the facilities and uses uptodate technology to run my school. It has a large playground, well-stocked library and well-equipped science laboratory.

Daily Schedule

A typical day at my school starts with the assembly at 8:30 AM. We render our prayers, hear moral and other instructions from teachers. Apart from regular academics through the day, our time table is spotted with periods for music, games, project work etc. We undertake sports activities for an hour after the last period, which gets over at 3:30 PM.

Co-Curricular Activities

According to our interests, we are encouraged to participate in Arts & Crafts, NSS, Scout etc., and become members of various Clubs and Associations. Medical Teams and Psychologists visit us regularly to aid our holistic growth.

I love my school, teachers and friends very much. I aim to complete my studies with laurels. I wish to shine brightly in my higher studies and career, to spread the pride of my school.

My school is situated in the foothills of Yercaud in Salem district, Tamil Nadu and is called “Golden Gates”. It fosters a love for learning and this is clearly seen in its location which is unlike any other school. It is well placed in a natural setting with hills all around and streams flowing nearby. Inside the campus too, there is abundant nature with almond trees lining the divide between buildings and many shrubs and plants bordering different sports grounds. This facilitates practical study and most of our science and geography classes happen outside. Our Principal and Correspondent have made it their mission to create a healthy and organic atmosphere for learning.

My school teachers come in all shades of character. There are those teachers who have great love for the subject they teach and impart that love to us students too. Even a student who hates that particular subject will start liking it, if he/she sits in their classes. Next, we have jovial teachers who are cheerful in nature and radiate joy to all around them. They are friendly and compassionate and are the go-to people for all students when any trouble comes up. Then, there are the strict teachers who are rigorous in nature and make sure discipline and decorum is maintained throughout school. They are the ones who keep rule breakers and unruly students at bay. Together, our teachers form the heart and soul of the school.

On weekdays, typical school schedule happens in my school too. We start our day with a prayer assembly. With a short news time, prayer song and any specific instructions for the day, we depart to our respective classes. After four periods of subjects with a short snack break in between, we break for lunch. Lunch is when the whole school comes alive with shouts and screams of laughter as we all socialise with fellow classmates. Then follows three periods of subjects in the afternoon and off we leave to our homes. But everybody’s favourite is Saturday! The day dedicated for extracurricular activities. There are many clubs for Music, Dance, Gardening, Math, Drama, Science, Eco, etc… Each student is to pick two clubs and partake in them in the morning. Post lunch we have various sports clubs to participate in. On the whole, Saturdays are packed with play and fun.

Conclusion:

In today’s world, with the hustle and bustle of city life, my school is a wonderful place to learn and grow. It enriches our journey through education by blending in play, fun and nature.

Be a light to be a light – is the touching inscription welcomes all of us at the entrance gate of our school. My school – always filled with a treasure trove of memories, which is the best part of my life. It was indeed a paradise, located in the high ranges of the Western Ghats. Far away from the buzzing urban setting, my school situated amidst lush greenery in a calm and serene atmosphere.

My alma mater did mold me into a responsible citizen and an aspiring individual. It witnessed my metamorphosis from an ignorant toddler into a bold young adult with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. It gifted me with fourteen years of reminiscence to cherish for a lifetime.

Only fond memories – a home away from home:

For me, it was a home away from home. Even the trivial matters about the school became part and parcel of my life. Each classroom that I have sat in had made an indelible mark on my memory. The see-saw in the kids’ park, the class assemblies, physical training classes, lunch break chit chats, art competitions, sports competitions, silly fights with friends, school anniversaries, tight special classes, records, labs, exams… all left deep imprints in my mind.

The most significant part of my school memory revolves around the teachers. They are the incarnation of the divine. They kindle our lives with the bright light of knowledge and help us to imbibe the values to live. We cannot, ignore the contributions of the teachers, as they played a considerable role in molding a student’s life. At first, a student tries to imitate the teacher and gradually makes them the role models.

A teacher plays a vital role in guiding the students to a righteous path. The moral values inherited during school life can last for a lifetime. The way the teachers nurtures and loves the students is heart rendering. We can openly share our anxieties and frustrations with our teachers.

Most teachers were more like best friends. We used to celebrate Teachers Day every year in a grandiose fashion. Our dear teachers always put forth spell spindling performance and enthralled the students with a real visual treat. Their blessings can have a huge influence on anybody’s lives. Even after you go to pursue your higher studies, you can always come back to your school and cherish your good old days. Our teachers are so overwhelmed to see us and are curious to know about our accomplishments.

Besides all these, another best thing about school is our friends. It is the place where any human begins to socialize. You enter into a new realm of social life at school. Hence your acquaintance at school becomes family. As you grow up, the influence of your peer group holds a vital role in your character formation. The hilarious moments with the friends are irreplaceable.

Hence, school life turns out to be a microcosm of the real life wherein you laugh, cry, forgive, forget, interact, react, adjust, learn, teach, observe, take risks, transform and finally evolve into fully fledged individual ready to step out into the complex world.

Education is the bedrock of the society. Any society that wants to break new grounds in science and art has to invest in its education. Though education can be attained both formally and informally, formal education through schools occupies the large chunk of the learning process of any country.

My school is by a large margin one of the best places to attain formal education. While the above statement might sound bold, this article would explain the reasons why my school can back up the bold statement. Features possessed by my school smoothens the learning curve and takes stress away from education.

The Environment:

Assimilation becomes difficult when learning is conducted in a toxic environment. Other times, the terrain isn’t toxic but lacks the right appeal to the average student. Student want to be welcomed with the right colours, feel comfortable when they sit or draw inspiration from the general architecture of their school.

My school embodies the above mentioned qualities and more to the smallest of details. The classrooms are decorated with bright colours to cheer up the student’s mood; the playground is designed to relax each student after participating in mentally challenging mind exercise and the general design of the school subconsciously makes every student feel at home.

The Teachers:

Teachers can either make or break any school. Some grumpy, others dull, and then you have those who simply lack the techniques of teaching. While some concepts are easy to learn, other concepts require a teacher who has mastered the art of teaching to drive the point home with each student.

My school possesses experienced teacher who could honestly be motivational speakers when they want to be. They are witty, smart and full of charisma. Also, while they can be playful, they ensure that the message doesn’t get lost. To sum it up, teachers in my school hold themselves to the best moral standards. These values are innocuously instilled in the student while they learn academic concepts.

The Students:

There simply can be no school without the student. No matter how nicely decorated a school is, the quality of its teachers or management, it would all go to waste without bright student flooding the classes on a daily basis.

While abundance of vibrant student can be found at my school, the strength of the student does not lie solely in their numbers. Students at my school make the job of teachers easy. They are attentive in class, pay attention to detail and they have a knack for finishing task in record time.

The conduct of student at my school is second to none. The students are courteous to each other and their superiors. Also, they maintain the highest level of decorum in the classroom and beyond.

All the good things about my school cannot be exhausted in this short article. Also, after all has been said and done, the pertinent question is whether or not I love my school enough to recommend it to others. The answer to this question is definitely in the affirmative.

School is an integral part of everybody’s life. It helps in forming and building the base of child’s future. The site of my school was very quiet as well as pollution free. There were two stairways at both ends that make me reach to each floor. The school was well furnished including a well-instrumented science research laboratory, a big library, as well as one computer laboratory at first floor. There was a school lecture theatre located on the ground floor in which the entire annual meetings and functions take place.

Structure of my school:

The head office, principal offices, staff room, clerk room, and common study room are situated on my school’s ground floor. Moreover, there were the stationery shop, school canteen; skating hall and chess room that were located on the ground floor.

There was a tiny green garden facing the head office. It was full of bright flowers and pretty plants that increase the whole school beauty. During my time, there were around 1600 students at my school. All the students perform quite well in any inter-school competitions.

Standard of education:

The education standards of my school were quite inventive and advanced that benefit me in understanding any difficult subjects quite effortlessly. Our professors explain us everything very genuinely and try to let us know all the things practically. My school always get the first rank in any inter-school cultural activities.

All the significant days of the year like teacher’s day, sports day, parent’s day, anniversary day, children’s day, republic day, founder’s day, Christmas day, independence day, mother’s day, happy new year, annual junction, Mahatma Gandhi birthday, etc., were celebrated in my school in a magnificent way.

Our school’s principal was very strict regarding hygiene, discipline, and cleanliness.

Other facilities:

Students in my school also get the facility of the bus that helps them in reaching the school from far away places. The entire students used to accumulate in the play area during the morning time for the prayer and then go back to their particular schoolrooms. There were different teachers for the diverse subjects in my school such as Math, P.T., Hindi, English, G.K, Marathi, geography, history, drawing and crafts, science, and many more.

We used to have numerous co-curricular activities in my school like scouting, swimming, N.C.C, skating, school band, dancing, singing, etc. All those students who had prejudiced behavior and do disobedient activities were penalized by the class teacher according to the norms of my school. We also get a small lecture daily from our principal for around 10 minutes regarding the etiquette, character formation, moral education, respecting others and acquiring good values. Thus, I can say that what I am today is only because of my school which is the best school according to me.

I am a proud student of Delhi Public School, Mayapuri. My school is located quite close to my home, at a walking distance of 5 minutes. My school positions high among the composite state-funded schools of Delhi. Late Sh. Ram Gopal, the founder leader of Seth Sagarmal trust is the zenith body behind the establishment of this school. The founder administrator Sh. Ram Gopal was a visionary and a philanthropist and he had a fantasy for giving quality education and great foundation with the goal that the kids from the cross segment of the general public could get great training and turn into the respectable nationals of the nation. His fantasy was acknowledged when Delhi Public School, Mayapuri was built up in the year 1991 and spread over 4 acres of land. He used to tell during the assembly meetings that this school has been set up with a mission to give quality training gelled with moral qualities and has the vision to encourage and develop the intellectual and creative abilities in us. Our teachers at Delhi Public School plan to make a solid society by giving comprehensive training keeping in view the changing patterns in worldwide instruction and guide us accordingly.

Infrastructure:

My school is situated on a plot of 4 acres of land out of which 2 acres of land is for the building and remaining 2 acres of land is for the playground and other open-air exercises. Other than brilliant class empowered classrooms, my school building contains the accompanying Lab (Language, General Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Computers), Library, Multipurpose Hall, Music, Dance and Drama Room, Workmanship Room, Sports Room, Yoga Room, Hospital/Medical Room regulated by full time qualified specialist and helped by an attendant and Staff Rooms (separate staff spaces for various dimension of educators). My school transport has 6 different routes which cover nearly most of Delhi making it convenient for students from all areas to reach the school on time.

The Atmosphere of My School:

The atmosphere of my school is superb with bunches of natural greenery and scenery. There is a vast ground surrounded by beautiful trees and full of green grass for us to play during our PT periods. Different things like an enormous playground, vast open spaces all around the school give my school a characteristic marvel. There is an office of cricket net, basketball court and skating ground too. My school pursues CBSE board standards. My school gives the education to students of all caste and creed from nursery to twelfth class. My school principal is extremely strict about school control, cleanliness and neatness.

Academic Activities in My School:

The academic norms of my school are exceptionally inventive and imaginative which enables us to understand any difficult issue effortlessly. Our teachers show us earnestly and let us know everything essentially. My school positions first in any program like between school social interests and sports exercises. In my school we celebrate all important days and events of the year such as Sports Day, Teacher’s Day, Parents’ Day, Children’s Day, School Anniversary Day, Founder’s Day, Republic Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day, Mother’s Day, Annual capacity, Happy New Year, Mahatma Gandhi Birthday, and so on in a fabulous way.

We take part in the co-curricular exercises, for example, swimming, exploring, N.C.C., school band, skating, singing, moving, and so on. Students having unjustifiable conduct and unrestrained exercises are punished by the class educator according to the school standards. Our in charge ma’am takes classes of each student occasionally in the gathering corridor for 10 minutes to manage our character, behaviour, moral instruction, gaining great qualities and regarding others. Our educational time is exceptionally fascinating and charming as we do lots of inventive and useful works with the help of our teachers.

Why I Worship My School?

My school resembles a temple where we go every day, appeal to God and study for 6 hours every day. My teacher is exceptionally decent and understanding. My school has strict standards of study, cleanliness and uniform. I just enjoy going to school every day as my mom says that it is exceptionally important to go to class daily and study. This is very important for my bright future and my journey towards becoming a good human being. My School is a temple of realizing where we are creatively engaged through the learning procedure. We learn different things too with our examination like control, conduct, act well, reliability and a lot more manners. In this way, my school is the best school in the world.

We all have many sweet and sour memories of our school. Many of us complete our school education from one school but some students like me have to change more than a few schools. School leaves a great impact on our minds. It affects our way of thinking and teaches us to live in the outside world. No wonder it is called the second home of a child.

I too admire my school. Although it has also been two years since I started studying here, there are many kinds of emotions I have developed for my current school. Basically, I belong to the colorful state of Rajasthan. But due to some family reasons, I had to come to Bhubaneswar. It is the capital city of the state of Orissa.

Early Days at My School:

I started my studies here as a student of standard 7. Clearly, there were many cultural differences between my past school and this one. The language, the climate, the food, and the ways of interaction, everything was different here. For the first few months, it was hard for me to adjust in a completely new environment. But slowly, it started to feel familiar.

The Atmosphere:

My classmates and subject teachers have been very supportive. It’s a co-ed school that means both girls and boys sit together and interact with each other frankly. Our school has a great building. It is situated at the heart of the city, away from the residential areas of the town. We go to school by bus.

Teachers at my school come from different parts of the country. My English teacher is a south-Indian whereas my science teacher is a highly reputed lady who came from America and settled in India a few years ago. She is a visiting faculty and teaches us out of her passion for the teaching job.

The students in my school belong to different types of families. Some are from a very simple family. And some are from highly reputed and educated families. For example, the parents of one of my classmates are scientists and parents of another classmate are lecturers. But all the students are treated equally in my school and this is what makes me really proud of my school.

Our School Campus:

My school has a three-floor building. All the classrooms here are large and well-maintained. They are always clean. Huge windows in the class allow sufficient sunlight into the rooms. In summers, we also use the air conditioning in the school as the climate here is quite hot and humid.

We also have a huge playground in the school where our daily assembly and all the other activities take place. In the morning assembly, everything is organized by the students only. From playing the instruments to reading the news and helping students make a line to their classrooms, students take care of all the tasks.

What I Enjoy the Most at My School:

It is a day-boarding school. So, all the children get their breakfast and lunch from the school mess itself. The meals served here is hot and fresh. You can get extra servings as many times as you like. Although in the beginning, it was new to my taste buds, I started to like the Oriya cuisine very soon.

There are many extra-curricular activities taught to the students here. To name some, we have a traditional Oriya dance class. Then, there are self-defense classes and an additional class to learn a foreign language of your choice.

Discipline and Conduct:

Discipline and cleanliness form a great part of my school culture. Every day, the seniors form a group for hygiene checking of the juniors. The responsibility of each senior student is fixed. From the shoes to nails and clean dress, everything is checked properly.

The classes in my school start from play way and up to standard 10. Sincerity and punctuality are the key habits of my school. Even the teachers and kids from the lower classes come to school on time and follow every rule.

Once we get inside the school premises, it is not allowed for us to talk in our mother tongue. All the students have to talk to each other in English. And the rules about it are very strict. Though it may sound a severe rule, it has improved our spoken English in a great way.

Extra-curricular Activities:

Our principal likes discipline but she also shows us a lot of affection and warmth. The students can directly go to her for sharing their problems. She also makes sure that we enjoy the teaching of our teachers and not get bored. That is why occasional trips are arranged for us to explore the nearby cities, which I enjoy a lot.

I also look forward to the annual sports day organized at my school. There are so many sports activities to cheer us up and keep our mind and body healthy. I also participate in the annual functions of my school. It is organized at the biggest auditorium in Bhubaneswar. We practice for several days before the final performance on the stage.

My Sweet Memories at the School:

Last year, my classmates and juniors made my birthday so special. My desk was filled with gifts and greeting cards. They showered me with so much love and affection. When I was new here, all my classmates were very helpful and made it easy for me to settle here without much of a problem.

They are also kind enough to teach me their local language ‘Oriya’. With time, I have learned to read and write the basic words and sentences in the language. Our school also introduced us to the habit of writing and sharing letters with our pen-pals.

My school has taught me many valuable such as to help others, to not make fun of others, respecting the elders and loving the young ones. Over time, I have collected many precious memories here and feel grateful to God for allowing me such a rich learning environment.

I would always love my school and no matter where I go, I will always be proud of it all my life.

1. Essay On My School  For Students

The school is a place where the minds are molded and the destiny of a nation is shaped. It is the place to impart education in a systematic and ordered way to the upcoming generation. The mode and the manner and the system of education in a school is a decisive factor in the future of a nation.

Essay, paragraph, speech, short note on My School

It’s a moment of pride for me that I study in school (Write the name of your school). This place has been instrumental in preparing the great ever minds who have ever ruled the world. The great ever leaders, scientist, doctor, engineers, politicians, warriors and what not? Surely, these classrooms are vital for the survival of a nation.  My School has large sturdy and confident building that looks welcoming every new student here. It has a large and friendly playground. The air enters into our school with lush sweet fragrance, making all of school airy and excellent.

Every morning when I enter into our school, I am greeted by all alike. The principal, the teachers, the watchmen, the peon, in fact all, treat us like a family. More than the books alone, we study and learn with practical interactive environment of our school. The teachers are very kind and cooperative. The principal handles our school like a father does to his family.

We all are like a family under one shade. A really big and sweet family under the command of a kind captain.  The peaceful and interactive studying environment is what that makes our school top in the list of excellent schools.

The teachers here are very competent and cooperative. They listen at you. They are not the teachers alone but they are like the good friends who understand every single problem of students.  That’s why we always love our school deeply.

Extra curricular studies are also the vital part of education. Fortunately, our school tops in providing the excellent extracurricular activities. Here, various extra curricular activities are routinely held. The activities like, quiz competition, speech and debates, writing competition, sports events, national celebration events, tabloids, dramas etc are often held.

The purpose of these activities is to instill a sense of confidence and motivation for winning among the students. Our school also takes part in the extra curriculum activities held among various other school. It’s prideful for me to mention that very last month our school won the cricket cup trophy in annual district cricket tournament. The cricket cup was won after fierce competition between various school teams. Our school won it after defeating 8 other schools cricket teams.

Not only in sports , our school also appears in top in other activities like debates and speeches, tabloids, dramas, etc. Therefore, the entire credit goes to the honest and dedicated administration of our school who are always behind our every success. Education is fast changing day by day. Our school does not lag behind. In terms of facilities, our school provides the best ever learning and studying facilities to all students.

There is a big library that is filled up books and books everywhere. The library contains books of every need to our students. We have science laboratory to practice.  The laboratory is served with all modern facilities. Our school has latest information technology computer labs for students.

In fact, our school administration is truly capable of effective utilization of all resources. We learn here passionately to earn a good name, not only for our self but for our school.

Motivation and passion are the two things that make you striving for the best. Our teachers are true mentors and motivators who truly fill up every student to work hard and dedicate one for a single true goal. Thanks to the kind and true mentor ship the students of our school have made their marks in their life.

I am proud of my school who has prepared such great true human for our world. The entire credit lies on the shoulders of our teachers. The best school is one who is in constant contact with not only students but the parents and in fact with the whole community. The regular parents’ teachers meetings are held in our school.

The teachers guide the parents about the short coming and possible ways for the students. The parents are informed of regular assessments of students and with the results. It minimizes the gap of lack of communication between school and the community and helps improving education. Therefore, our school is not the same old name of just teaching crap things to students but its more than that.

The kind competitive, cooperative and excellent interactive study environment prepares the students in a real way for the next practical level of life. This all makes me proud of my school. Therefore, the school is not the name of a place where the children crowd together and do nothing meaningful. The school is the place where the students not only learn the things from books but learn how to apply things in a practical life.

It depends upon the overall environment of school, its administration, kind and dedicated teachers and true and sincere students to their goals. The real school is like a heaven on earth. And, I am thankful my teachers, every single student of this school, worthy Principal and truly dedicated each and every staff of this school to turn it into a heaven on earth.

I am also thankful of my parents who made it possible for me to study here in this school. In the end,  I wish every single school be a great school like that of ours.

3. My First Day at School Essay:

It was a bright and sunny morning, the birds were chirping and the flowers were blooming. As I woke up from my deep slumber, I couldn’t contain my excitement for what lay ahead of me. It was my first day at school, a day that I had been anxiously waiting for since as long as I could remember.

As I got dressed in my crisp new school uniform, my mind was filled with thoughts and questions. Would I make new friends? Would the teachers be nice? What kind of subjects would I learn? All these unanswered questions added to my excitement.

As I walked towards the school gates, I could feel butterflies in my stomach. The school building looked intimidating yet welcoming at the same time. I joined a group of other kids who were also starting their first day and we nervously chatted as we made our way to the assembly hall.

As I sat in the assembly hall, surrounded by unfamiliar faces, I couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. But as soon as the principal started her welcome speech, all my fears disappeared. She was warm and friendly, and she made us all feel at ease. She introduced us to the teachers and explained the rules and regulations of the school.

After the assembly, we were divided into our respective classes. I was assigned to class 1A and as I entered the classroom, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of belonging. The classroom was brightly decorated with posters and pictures, making it a fun learning environment. My teacher, Mrs. Smith, greeted me with a warm smile and welcomed me to the class.

Throughout the day, we had different lessons and activities which were all new to me. From learning how to write my name in cursive to solving simple math equations, I was fascinated by everything. The other kids in my class were also friendly and welcoming, making it easier for me to adjust to my new surroundings.

Before I knew it, the day had come to an end. As I walked out of school with a big smile on my face, I couldn’t wait for the next day. My first day at school had exceeded all my expectations and I was excited for the rest of my academic journey.

Looking back, that first day at school holds a special place in my heart. It was the beginning of a new chapter in my life and I will always cherish the memories and experiences from that day. My first day at school taught me to be brave, to embrace change, and most importantly, it showed me that every new beginning comes with its own set of adventures.

4. My Last Day at School Essay:

As I sit here, reminiscing about my last day at school, a wave of mixed emotions washes over me. It’s hard to believe that after all these years, this is the end of my time in school. The place where I have spent the majority of my days learning and growing is now just a memory.

I remember walking into school on that fateful day, knowing that it would be my last. The hallways were bustling with students, but it felt different this time. Everyone seemed to be in a hurry, trying to finish up their final exams and last-minute assignments, all while saying goodbye to friends and teachers.

As I entered my classroom, my teacher handed me a piece of paper – my graduation certificate. Tears welled up in my eyes as I read the words written on it. It was a bittersweet moment, knowing that this piece of paper symbolized the end of my school journey and the beginning of a new chapter.

The rest of the day passed by in a blur. We had our final class photo, signed each other’s yearbooks, and exchanged heartfelt goodbyes. It was a day filled with emotions, laughter, and tears – the perfect way to end our time together as a class.

As I stepped out of school for the last time, I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by all the memories that flooded my mind. From my first day at school to this very moment, every experience has shaped me into the person I am today. The friends I made, the lessons I learned, and the challenges I overcame – they have all played a significant role in my growth.

Leaving school was not easy, but it also marked the beginning of a new chapter in my life. While I will miss the familiar routine and faces of school, I am excited to embark on new adventures and create more memories.

To my teachers and friends, thank you for making my time in school unforgettable. I will always cherish the memories we shared and carry the lessons you taught me with me as I move forward.

In conclusion, my last day at school was a day filled with emotions and reflections. As I turn the page on this chapter of my life, I am grateful for all that school has given me and excited for what the future holds. This is not the end, but a new beginning. So here’s to my last day at school – a day that will always hold a special place in my heart. Cheers!

5. Essay on My Dream School:

As a child, I remember constantly daydreaming about my dream school. I would imagine walking through the halls, chatting with my friends and teachers, and attending classes that sparked my creativity and curiosity. Now, as an adult, the idea of my dream school still excites me.

Firstly, my ideal school would be surrounded by nature. It’s no secret that nature has a positive impact on our well-being, and I believe that incorporating it into the learning environment would greatly benefit students. Imagine having classes in an outdoor setting, surrounded by trees and flowers, or even just having large windows to let in natural light. It would create a calm and peaceful atmosphere, making it easier for students to focus and learn.

Secondly, my dream school would have a strong focus on the arts. Whether it’s music, visual arts, or drama, I believe that incorporating the arts into education is essential. It allows students to express themselves in different ways and fosters creativity and critical thinking. My dream school would have well-equipped art studios and performance spaces for students to unleash their artistic talents.

Next, I envision my dream school to have a diverse and inclusive environment. It would welcome students from different backgrounds, cultures, and abilities. This would not only create a sense of belonging for students but also provide valuable learning opportunities. Students would be exposed to different perspectives, promoting empathy and understanding.

Moreover, my dream school would prioritize mental health and well-being. With the increasing pressure on students to excel academically, it’s important to have a supportive and understanding environment. My dream school would have counselors available for students to talk to, as well as incorporate mindfulness practices into the curriculum. This would promote self-care and coping strategies for students.

Additionally, I believe that my dream school should have a strong emphasis on community service and giving back. It’s important for students to learn about social responsibility and the impact they can have on their communities. My dream school would have partnerships with local organizations and provide opportunities for students to participate in volunteer work, instilling a sense of compassion and empathy.

In conclusion, my dream school would be a place where students can feel inspired, supported, and empowered. It would prioritize holistic education, incorporating nature, arts, diversity, mental health, and community service. I truly believe that such a school would not only foster academic success but also create well-rounded individuals who are equipped to make a positive impact on the world. So, let’s continue to dream big and strive for an education system that truly nurtures and empowers our future generations. Happy learning!

School also exposes us to a diverse group of people, helping us learn about different cultures and perspectives.

In addition to academic and social development, school is also a place where we develop our personalities. Through extracurricular activities like sports, music, drama, or debate, we discover our interests and talents. These activities help build our confidence, self-esteem, and character. They also teach us important values like discipline, determination, and resilience.

Furthermore, school is a safe space where we can make mistakes and learn from them without facing harsh consequences. It allows us to experiment and explore our interests without the fear of failure. This type of learning environment fosters creativity and innovation, which are crucial for success in today’s ever-changing world.

In conclusion, the importance of school for students cannot be overstated. It not only provides us with academic knowledge but also helps develop essential life skills, social skills, and our personalities. School is where we form lasting friendships, build our characters, and prepare ourselves for the future.

As someone wise once said, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet.” So, let us embrace the bitter roots and reap the sweet fruits of education. So, whether you’re a student or a parent, always remember the significant impact that school has on shaping young minds. It is truly an invaluable institution that plays a crucial role in our personal growth and development.

9. My Views About My School:

As a student, I have spent most of my academic life in school. It has been a place where I have grown both personally and academically. My school is not just a building with classrooms; it is like a second home to me.

One of the main reasons why I love my school is because of its diverse community. Students from different backgrounds come together under one roof to learn and grow. This has taught me the importance of acceptance, diversity, and inclusivity. I have made friends with people from different cultures and have learned so much from them.

The teachers at my school are also a huge part of why I love it. They not only teach us academic subjects but also instill important values in us. They go above and beyond their duty to ensure that we are not just good students, but also good human beings. I have always felt comfortable approaching them for any kind of help, whether it is related to academics or personal issues.

Apart from academics, my school also focuses on extracurricular activities. From sports to music and drama, there is something for everyone to explore their talents and interests. This has allowed me to discover my passion for music and I have been a part of the school band since middle school.

The infrastructure of my school is also impressive. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology, making learning more interactive and engaging. The library is well-stocked with books on various subjects, and the laboratory facilities have helped me develop practical skills.

Moreover, my school also encourages community service and giving back to society. This has taught me the importance of being a responsible citizen and has instilled in me the desire to make a positive impact in my community.

Overall, I feel lucky to have attended such a wonderful school that has shaped me into the person I am today. It has provided me with not just knowledge but also invaluable life lessons that will stay with me forever. I am grateful for all the experiences, memories, and friendships that my school has given me. So, it’s not just a school to me, but a second home where I have grown and flourished into a better version of myself. My school holds a special place in my heart and will always be cherished in my memories. After all, as they say, “Home is where the heart is,” and my school will always have a special place in my heart. I am proud to be a part of this amazing community and I look forward to making more memories in my final year at this wonderful school.

10. Essay on My Village School:

Growing up in a village, attending the local village school was an integral part of my childhood. The small school was nestled among lush green fields and surrounded by paddy farms. It had been serving the educational needs of the children living in our village for decades.

The school building was a simple structure with a few classrooms, a principal’s office and a playground. The classrooms were small and cozy, just perfect for a close-knit community like ours. The walls were adorned with colorful charts and maps that made the learning environment fun and engaging.

What set our village school apart from others was the warm and nurturing atmosphere created by the teachers. They knew each student by name, their strengths and weaknesses, and took a genuine interest in their overall development. The classes were interactive, and the teachers used innovative teaching methods to make learning enjoyable.

One of my fondest memories of my village school was the annual sports day. Days before the event, the entire school would buzz with excitement and prepare for various competitions. The parents also actively participated in organizing the event, making it a truly community affair.

Apart from academics, our village school also focused on instilling moral values and promoting cultural activities. We celebrated all major festivals together, irrespective of our caste or religion. The school also had a dedicated music teacher who taught us traditional folk songs and dances.

One of the biggest challenges our village school faced was lack of resources, especially technological advancements. But that never stopped the teachers from giving their best to educate us. They found innovative ways to teach us without any fancy equipment, making use of everyday objects and materials.

Today, as I look back at my village school days, I am grateful for the strong foundation it provided me. It taught me the value of community, instilled in me a love for learning and nurtured me into a responsible individual.

My village school will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am proud to be a part of its legacy. So, it is not just a school but a second home for me- a place filled with love, memories, and lessons that will stay with me forever. A village school may be small and lacking in resources, but the impact it leaves on the hearts and minds of its students is immeasurable.

The simplicity, warmth and personal touch of a village school make it truly unique and special. It may not be able to offer all the luxuries of modern education, but it teaches values that can never be taught in a classroom.

My village school will always be a source of inspiration for me, reminding me to give my best in whatever I do and to always remember where I came from. Overall, my village school experience has been a defining chapter of my life, shaping me into the person I am today. And for that, I will forever be grateful.

So, let’s take a moment to appreciate our village schools and the silent heroes who work tirelessly to educate and mold young minds in these humble institutions. They may not make headlines or receive fancy awards, but their impact on society is immeasurable. Long live village schools and the valuable lessons they impart.

11. My Experience in Senior High School Essay:

When I first entered senior high school, I was filled with a mix of excitement and nervousness. Excitement because it would be my last 2 years in school before entering college, and nervousness because I knew that these 2 years would shape my future.

I remember the first day we were given our schedules and class lists. It was like a puzzle trying to figure out which classes I would have with my friends, and which ones I would be alone in. As luck would have it, most of my close friends were in different classes, but I quickly made new friends in my own class.

My experience in senior high school was both challenging and rewarding. The curriculum was more demanding compared to junior high school, but it also offered a wider range of subjects to choose from. I was able to explore my interests and discover new ones.

One of the most memorable experiences was participating in extracurricular activities. I joined the debate team, which allowed me to improve my public speaking skills and learn more about current events. I also volunteered for various community service projects, which gave me a sense of fulfillment knowing that I was making a positive impact in my community.

However, senior high school wasn’t just about academics and extracurriculars. It was also a time for personal growth and self-discovery. I learned to manage my time better, prioritize tasks, and handle stress effectively. I also formed strong friendships with my classmates, some of whom I still keep in touch with today.

Looking back, I can confidently say that my experience in senior high school was one of the most memorable and influential periods of my life. It prepared me for the challenges of college and helped shape me into the person I am today. I will always be grateful for the lessons and experiences I gained during those 2 years, and I look forward to creating more unforgettable memories in the future.

So to all the current and future senior high school students, make the most out of your experience because it will truly be a defining chapter of your life. With hard work, determination, and an open mind, you can achieve anything you set your heart to. So take this opportunity to learn, grow, and make lasting memories that you will cherish for years to come. Happy senior high school!

Manifesto for compound prefect sample

The Headmaster and his Assistants, Members of Stuff, Outgoing Prefects, Seniors, Fellow Student. I consider it an honor to appear before you right now to offer my manifesto as an incoming school compound overseer for this illustrious institution.

Humans were made in the image of God and are all alike. Different people from different places, on the other hand, live, think, and do things in different ways.

The majority of these are mostly determined by the person’s upbringing. As a result, human behavior is also influenced by the environment in which they are born. Some of my responsibilities as an environment captain at school are as follows:

1. Because cleanliness is second only to God, I am responsible for keeping the entire school, classes, and compound clean at all times. The ability to think critically is enhanced in a clean environment.

2. I’m concerned about how pupils interact with one another and with professors. Good interactions encourage people to come up with good ideas. The entire school environment will be like that if all kids have a nice and good relationship. It is my responsibility to attend to that.

3. Assist in the promotion of pupil self-discipline. Discipline problems might wreak havoc on the entire school environment.

4. Because the primary aim of attending school is to study, it is my responsibility to guarantee that the environment is conducive to learning. An academic environment is one that is quiet, has good interpersonal relationships, and people who are willing to carry out their responsibilities as students.

5. Ensure that the available school resources are used to their full potential while avoiding waste.

6. Assist the school captain in putting some of the policies and tactics he has devised into action.

However, I am aware that in performing my obligations, I will encounter several difficulties, including the following:

1. Cases of rudeness When I tell pupils to wash their hands, some of them may choose to reply in a nasty manner. I can’t compete with them as a student. I’m sorry that no matter how harshly I punish them, they simply demonstrate that I’m doing nothing.

2. Occasionally find the compound to be unclean, and I am frequently confronted with the question of who I should allow to clean it. I can’t just choose somebody at random since I’d be oppressing them. However, as a leader, I am prepared to meet any challenges that may arise.

I promise to give my utmost best when I am elected. Thank You.

Final words

Writing an application letter/manifesto for a compound prefect position can be challenging, but with the right preparation and dedication, you can craft an effective application that will make you stand out from the crowd. Take the time to prepare and research, and use the advice in this guide to write a successful application letter/manifesto that will help you get the compound prefect position you’re after.

Minorities and Women and Law Reviews, Oh My!

Earlier this month, roughly around the time that newly minted law review editors were hearing the good news, we raised the issue of how many minorities and women are being selected for law review.

It’s not a new debate; whether underrepresented minorities (URMs) and women are adequately represented on the nation’s leading law journals has long been a subject of controversy. But in light of the tough legal job market, in which credentials like law review membership are more valuable than ever, it’s certainly a subject worth revisiting.

We kicked off the discussion with this tip:

How To Build And Manage Your Law Firm Rate Sheet

How To Build And Manage Your Law Firm Rate Sheet

You may want to investigate proportions of URMs [underrepresented minorities] and women at some top 5 law reviews. I hear that [one school] took 29 1Ls, but only 7 women and no African-Americans. [Another school] took 45 first-year editors, about even male/female, but only 2 URMs in the bunch.

Which law journals are being referred to here? And how are URMs and women doing at other law reviews — perhaps yours is mentioned — around the country?

UPDATE : Please note that a few updates and corrections have been added since this post was originally published. Check them out after the jump.

We discuss several law reviews below. Please note: if you see an error, just email us (subject line: “Correction”), and we will fix it. Race is not always obvious, and so some minority editors might have been overlooked (or, perhaps less likely, some non-minority individuals with nice tans might have been counted as minorities).

The first law review mentioned in the tip — the one that admitted 29 1Ls, but only 7 women and no African-Americans — is the University of Chicago Law Review . This was confirmed by multiple sources, several of whom sent links to the mastheads (see Volume 78, “Members”). One source provided this breakdown:

29 1L’s (August, Austin, Brady, Bronshtein, Davis, DeTurck, Dykstra, Flowers, Foreman, Geiger, Kenny, Kraehenbuehl, MacDonald, MacLeod, Mason, McSweeney, Mooneyham, O’Leary, Ogles, Parker, Press, Rowland, Rozen, Saxton, Shi, Tarasen, Wallace, Walsh, Wang) 3 non-whites (Ms. Shi, Ms. Wang, Mr. Tarasen) 7 women (Ms. August, Ms. Austin, Ms. Foreman, Ms. MacDonald, Ms. Saxton, Ms. Shi, Ms. Wang)

UPDATE : One missing minority: Mr. Geiger is half-Hispanic.

In defense of the Chicago Law Review, larger forces may be at work, according to one source: “UofC has a hard time recruiting URMs in the first place, so we’re drawing from a very small percentage of the class to begin with.” A different tipster estimates the number of African-Americans in Chicago’s most recent 1L class (now the rising 2Ls) at around 7 out of 189.

Not All Legal AI Is Created Equal

Not All Legal AI Is Created Equal

So perhaps the lack of minorities is somewhat understandable. What about women?

We’re close to 50/50, so I don’t know what’s going on there. Women tend to not speak much in class, either. I’m not sure why the gender disparity is there — I don’t think there’s any overt sexism going on, and the writing competition is totally blind — but it’s a little disturbing.

Is it the fault of the selection process? It sounds fair and reasonable, as described by another U of C student:

[T]he process is completely blind. Ten of the spots are write-on. The writing competition entries are blindly graded on a numerical scale. Therefore, not much chance of bias there. The other 19 are grade-on — usually the top 19 of the class, unless they decline to participate in the writing competition. This is also blindly communicated to the law review editors from the administration.

Ah, but this begs the question: Is grading affected by bias? The same source responds:

As far as women are concerned, I would wager this is not a law review problem. There are valid concerns that men are sometimes favored by professors because they tend to be more assertive and more likely to speak in class or approach professors outside of class and form bonds, perhaps leading to better grades. That being said, our finals are blindly graded, and most professors award no points for class participation. If there is a male/female grading disparity in the school, I’m not aware of it. One year’s law review results are hardly statistically significant

This issue has been raised before, according to a U of C Law Review alum:

I was on the board there and we had no discretionary spots — it was merit or nothing (some grades, some writing). Someone even did a study of the last 5 years or so and the minority numbers were small. There was much discussion about this but the board ultimately decided to keep the status quo, and for good reason.

So that’s what’s going on at Chicago. What about the second law review mentioned, which took 45 first-year editors, about even male/female, but only 2 URMs? We understand that it’s the Yale Law Journal .

This doesn’t come as a shock. When I was on the YLJ editorial board (PDF), I think we also had just two “URMs” — one African-American, who was one of our executive editors, and one Latino. There were many women on the board, though, and our editor-in-chief was a woman (of part-Asian ancestry).

We’ve listed below information submitted by readers about other law reviews (in alphabetical order). If you see an error, just email us (subject line: “Correction”). Thanks!

P.S. Next week, Ms. JD will publish a report on the proportion of law review editorial posts filled by women in the top 50 law schools. We’ll let you know when it’s out.

Cornell Law Review

“Each class, as you know, only has 200. Last year Cornell Law Rev. took 42. No black students. This year Law Rev. took 38. Two black students. That’s 2/80 for upcoming school year.”

Duke Law Journal

“Duke Law Journal (our Law Review) has zero incoming African American editors. Last year only three African Americans got on Law Review, and they were the only three on the entire journal (comprised of about 80 students). This is because no African Americans made it on the Law Review the prior year.”

“Along the same vein, zero African American students made it on the Moot Court Board for the past three years through the traditional 1L oral advocacy competition.”

“And along another sad sad vein, only 10 African Americans are expected to join the class of 2013 at Duke Law this year. This certainly does help African American students’ law review and moot court chances for the future.”

Fordham Law Review

“If my counting is correct, 25 out of 58 new law review staff are women.”

Harvard Law Review

“HLR only took 2 African American students, and at least one was through the write-on or discretionary basis (not grade-on). ”

Stanford Law Review

Editors only informed last week (Wednesday, July 28), mostly by phone. Breakdown is exactly half and half, men and women — 40 total editors join the staff this year. 20 men, 20 women. All membership is determined by a blind-graded essay/editing exercise.

UCLA Law Review

“The UCLA law review write-on includes a short-essay prompt which is essentially a diversity essay. Here is the text of this year’s prompt: ‘A range of academic interests, personal perspectives, and life experiences adds much to the Law Review. Please write a one-page double-spaced essay that illustrates what you would contribute to the Law Review community.'”

“At the Law Review write-on information panel, we were informed that there was no guarantee that the short-essay would even be read and that it would only be used when picking candidates from a borderline group that had comparable scores. However, they also let it slip that we should not ignore the short essay prompt since half of last year’s law review members were picked based on the contents of this essay! The Law Review did not release any statistics on the size or score range of the students chosen based on the short-essay prompt.”

“Although I am not the author, there is an extensive insider write-up of how the Law Review decided to add this short-essay prompt in 2007 to confront a lack of diversity on Law Review. Here is an excerpt:”

Late-spring 2006: Results of the writeon are announced. 41 students are selected. 39 students are white. Only 2 are minorities (both are East Asian). Law Review is dismayed at the composition, and decides to take steps to counter the impact on racial minorities, particularly on underrepresented students of color. Summer/early fall: One of the tasks the editorial board does to create a diversity committee to examine ways to increase diversity on Law Review, with increased racial diversity being the main objective of the committee. Knowing framing the issue in terms of increasing racial diversity will be problematic, the issue is framed in terms of “minimizing the disparate impact on students of color.”

University of Illinois Law Review

“University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana College of Law Law Review: 42 new students were selected this year, 20 of which are female. Our Editor-in-Chief is a woman as well. I cannot comment on how many minority races are represented.”

Virginia Law Review

“I’ve heard that the last time a black person was on the VLR was in the early 1990s. There have been very few URMs over the years as well. I don’t think the law review likes to share this information, but I would appreciate any public pressure you can place on them to at least be open about things.”

CORRECTION :

“While the Virginia Law Review was hardly a haven for underrepresented minorities, it is a little hyperbolic to say the last time a black person was on VLR was in the early 1990s. That was true while I was on its managing board, alas, but the year ahead of me, class of 2006, an African American was an Executive Editor, a member of the managing board.”

“URMs were certainly underrepresented on VLR during my time, but it’s still not true to say that they were absent entirely (let alone for decades).”
