The online Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Studies (BMS) degree in Applied Leadership degree program prepares students with foundational knowledge and transferrable skills for success in both the modern workplace and contemporary life.

This concentration provides theoretical understanding of leadership and organizations paired with courses that build a “toolbox” of practical and applied skills and competencies customizable to meet the needs and demands of the world in which we live and work. The BMS in Applied Leadership concentration focuses on the theoretical understanding of leadership and organizations and pairs this with practical and applied knowledge and skills. The concentration includes foundational knowledge that provides a lifetime of benefits—prepared for jobs that exist now but also equipped with transferrable skills to use in future employment.

Through coursework in the Applied Leadership concentration, students will: 

  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of leadership and workplace principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills for both personal and organizational leadership. 
  • Demonstrate understanding of the connection between and within groups and organizations. 
  • Interpret the contexts and environments in which leadership is applied. 
  • Apply leadership concepts and workplace skills to enhance problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Apply knowledge and skills gained in their personal and professional lives.
