Legal duty to provide governance information

All maintained school governing bodies and academy trusts have a legal duty to provide all of the governance information requested on this page in so far as it is available to them.

This will increase the transparency of governance arrangements. It will enable schools and the department to identify more quickly and accurately individuals who are involved in governance, and who govern in more than one context.

The information requested says nothing in itself about a person's suitability to govern. However, it is essential information for the department to be able to uniquely identify an individual and in a small number of cases conduct checks to confirm their suitability for this important and influential role.

You should provide all of the information requested insofar as it is available to you. A minimum set of information needs to be provided before a record can be saved.

This field is not editable by establishment users as it is populated by the DfE using the underlying data from the schools, pupils and their characteristics statistical release published each summer. The figures used are the performance table figures which ensures GIAS and the Find and Compare Schools in England service are consistent.

This information is compiled from the data returned by establishments for their establishment's situation on the third Thursday in January, in the spring school census data collection return.

This field shows whether a pupil's family have claimed eligibility for free school meals as reported in the annual spring school census. Pupils or their parents are able to claim free school meals if they receive a qualifying benefit. This field does not show pupils who actually received free school meals but the number of those who are eligible to receive them.

Homework in Year 5

  • Class Pages
  • Class Pages Archive: 2021-2022
  • All children have mental arithmetic maths homework books. One test should be completed each week;
  • Each child will additionally be given English homework in Year 5 - this will be in the form of a printed sheet. The work will usually be targeting grammar that we have worked on in school that week;
  • Maths and English homework is due in each Tuesday at school and will be marked;
  • It is expected that children work on this at home and try their best to present their work well;
  • There is no homework club at the moment, however, if your child needs help, they can put a star next to any questions they have struggled with and bring it to school (before Tuesday) to ask an adult for support in the mornings.

Other homework

As well as the weekly maths and English homework, it is expected that all children:

  • Read at least 5 times per week and to have this noted in their reading records and signed by an adult. They will receive a spot on the class reading rocket each Friday;
  • To regularly practise the relevant spellings that are sent home on highlighted lists (these can also be found online and in the children's reading records);
  • To practise their times tables recall up to 12 x 12 with corresponding division facts (children have time tables rockstars logins for this.

Year 5 Homework projects (5-1)

WOW! Myself, Mr Emmett and Mr Ahmed have been blown away with the amount of time and effort that the children have been putting into their topic homework projects! Our topic this half term has been based on Natural resources. At the beginning of the half the children were given a homework menu to choose tasks to complete each week. It is amazing to see the children engaging with their learning at home in this way. Keep up the brilliant work.

Here are some of the fantastic pieces of homeworks!
