Understanding the Basics of Kannada

Step 1 Learn the alphabet.

  • Here is a chart of Kannada vowels and their pronunciation.
  • ಅ a KANNADA LETTER A
  • ಆ ā KANNADA LETTER AA
  • ಇ e KANNADA LETTER E
  • ಈ e KANNADA LETTER EE
  • ಉ u KANNADA LETTER U
  • ಊ ū KANNADA LETTER UU
  • ಋ r̥ KANNADA LETTER VOCALIC Ru

  • ಏ ii KANNADA LETTER AE
  • ಐ ai KANNADA LETTER AI
  • ಒ o KANNADA LETTER O
  • ಓ ō KANNADA LETTER OO
  • ಔ au KANNADA LETTER AU
  • Canarese consonants come in two forms, structured and unstructured. Structured consonants are categorized by where the tongue touches the palate. These come in five categories. They are:
  • Velars ಕ (ka) ಖ (kha) ಗ (ga) ಘ (gha) ಙ (nga)
  • Palatals ಚ (cha) ಛ (chha) ಜ (ja) ಝ (jha) ಞ (nya)
  • Retroflex ಟ (tta) ಠ (ttha) ಡ (dda) ಢ (ddha) ಣ (nna)
  • Dentals ತ (ta) ಥ (tha) ದ (da) ಧ (dha) ನ (na)
  • Labials ಪ (pa) ಫ (pha) ಬ (ba) ಭ (bha) ಮ (ma)
  • The unstructured consonants are: ಯ (ya), ರ (ra), ಲ (la), ವ (va), ಶ (sha), ಷ (ssa), ಸ (sa), ಹ (ha), ಳ (lla)
  • Kannada also includes two letters which are part consonant and part vowel, called "yogavaahaka". They are the anusvara: ಅಂ (am) and the visarga: ಅಃ (ah)

Step 2 Learn Kannada numbers.

  • Below is a sample of Kannada numbers from 0 to 9.
  • ೦ sonne 0 Zero
  • ೧ ondu 1 One
  • ೨ eraḍu 2 Two
  • ೩ mūru 3 Three
  • ೪ nālku 4 Four
  • ೫ aidu 5 Five
  • ೬ āru 6 Six
  • ೭ ēḷu 7 Seven
  • ೮ enṭu 8 Eight
  • ೯ oṃbattu 9 Nine

Step 3 Know the Kannada writing system.

  • When Kannada is written using English language characters, you will sometimes find that vowels in the middle of words are capitalized to represent the long vowel sound. However, this convention is not uniformly practiced.

Step 4 Know the common pronouns.

  • you - neenu
  • she - avalu
  • they -avvaru
  • me - nanna, nannage
  • you - ninna, nimage
  • him - avana, avanige
  • her - avala,avalige
  • them - avarige
  • your - ninna
  • his - avana
  • her - avala
  • our - namma
  • their - avara
  • mine - nanna
  • yours - nimma
  • hers - avala
  • ours - namma
  • theirs - avara

Step 5 Learn Kannada pronunciation.

  • Ane (here A is as in Ball). In contrast, in aDike a is short as in "aristocrat".
  • mEle (here E is as in Baby).
  • prIti (here I is as in Meeting)
  • hOda (here O is as in roam)
  • pUjari (here U is as in fool)
  • The consonants which are capitalized are:
  • aDike (the D is as in "Dog"); lower case d is soft).
  • koTru (here T is as in "Tom"); lower case is soft.
  • chELige (here L is a sound with no equivalence in English; lower case is as in "lamb")
  • kaNNu (here N is nasal; lower case is as in "no")

Step 6 Understand gendering conventions.

  • Because of this, when looking at a Kannada language dictionary, you will find verbs by their verb stem rather than in a constructed, infinitive form. For example, see the conjugation of "to walk" in Kanadda below.
  • to walk - naḍeyalu
  • I walk - nānu naḍeyuttēne
  • you walk - nīvu naḍeyalu
  • he walks - avaru paricayisuttade
  • she walks - avaḷu naḍedu
  • it walks - idu paricayisuttade
  • they walk - avaru naḍedu
  • we walk - nāvu naḍeyalu
  • Notice that all of the conjugated forms maintain the root "ade" somewhere in the word.

Community Q&A

Community Answer

  • Since Kannada has various dialects and employs idioms from time to time, you will likely encounter variations on the above phrases that seem unfamiliar. Try to pick up on the gist of a phrase or isolate a single word to identify what people might be saying to you. Thanks Helpful 0 Not Helpful 0
  • Be careful when asking people to write things out for you. India has a relatively high illiteracy rate and you risk offending someone who can’t read or write when asking them to write something down. Thanks Helpful 0 Not Helpful 0

speech meaning kannada

Parts of Speech -

Nouns

Example:

Noun is also called “Sanjna" in kannada grammar. Noun is the word denoting the names. May be the names of any person, any place, any animal or any things.

So noun is the name of any person, place, animal or thing.

Rama (the name of an individual)

Woman (the name of a person)

Book (the name of a thing)

Bangalore (the name of a place)

Tiger (the name of an animal)

Fly (the name of the insect)

Thus we may define noun as the name of any person, place, animal or thing.

(2) ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪದ - Verb

“ ಕ್ರಿಯೆ ” ಅಂದರೆ ಕೆಲಸ . ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ವಾಕ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂಚಿಸುವ ಪದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪದ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ .

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ - Example:

Verb denotes the work. In any sentence, the word, showing the meaning of the "work" is called the Verb .

For example :

Rama reads the lesson.

The cat is eating the rat.

The stars are twinkling in the sky.

In the above first sentence, the word “ reads ” denotes the work of Rama. In the second sentence “ is eating ” denotes the work of the cat. Similarly in the 3rd sentence, the words “ are twinkling " denotes the work of the stars. So all the three words stated above, are the verbs in the parts of speech. So we may define the verb is a word which asserts or declares something .

  (3) ಸರ್ವನಾಮ - Pronoun

ನಾಮ ಪದಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬರುವ ಪದವು ಸರ್ವನಾಮ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ .

ಉದಾಹರಣೆ - Example :

The word, which comes in the place of a noun, is called Pronoun .

Rama is Rajanna's son.

He reads very well. Sitha comes to school from a village.

She is too smart. Raghu, when did you come?

The cat is in the kitchen hall.

It is drinking the milk.

In the above stated sentences, 'He' comes in the place of the “Rama”. “She” in the place of the noun "Sitha". 'You' in the place of "Raghu". 'It” in the place of the noun “Cat". So “he, she, you, it" all these four words are Pronouns .

So we can define , the word coming in the place of a noun, is called Pronoun.

(4) ವಿಶೇಷಣ - Adjective

Adjective is a describing word. It describes the quality of the noun.

Rama is a good boy.

Ashoka was an ideal king.

Kesabiyanka was a brave boy.

Rose is a beautiful flower.

Blue sky is fine to look at.

In the above stated sentences, the word “good” qualifies the noun “boy”. The word “ideal” qualifies “king”. In the 3rd sentence “brave" qualifies the noun “boy”. Simiilarly the word “beautiful" qualifies its next noun “flower”. In the last sentence the word “blue” qualifies the noun "sky”.

All these five words are qulifying their relevant nouns. So they are called Adjectives .

We may define now, that the adjective is a word which qualifies a noun.

(5) ಕ್ರಿಯಾ ವಿಶೇಷಣ - Adverb

Before learning of the Adverb , we must be aware of knowing the difference between Adjective and Adverb . Adjective qualifies a noun whereas Adverb modifies the Verb.

An adverb modifies a verb. Not only the verb, an adjective and also another adverb.

Rama runs (verb) fastly (modifies the verb)

Rama is a very good (Adjective) boy. (modifies theadjective, “good”).

Rama runs very fastly . (Adverb)

In the above three sentences, the adverb “fastly” modifies the verb “runs". In the second sentence “very” is the adverb, modifying the adjective “good”. In the 3rd sentence “very” is the adverb, modifying another adverb “fastly".

To conclude, we may define that the adverb is a word which modifies a verb, an adjective or another adverb.

Preposition shows relation between two things. It may be between two words or between two groups of words.

The book is on the table.

The fruit is in Rama's hand.

Sitha is between Geetha and Reetha.

The cat is under the chair.

The sky is above our head.

In the above said sentences the preposition 'in' shows the relation between the two nouns- i.e. fruit and Rama's hand. In the 2nd sentence “ between ” is the preposition, showing the relation between the two words - Sita and Geetha and Reetha.

In the 3rd sentence “ under " is the preposition, because it shows the relation between the two words 'cat and chair'.

In the last sentence 'above' is the prepostion, showing the relation between ‘sky' and 'head'.

So all these four words are preposition. Then we may conclude that the preposition shows the relation between two things.

Conjunction

By these two words, the word conjuction is formed. Conjunction means formation of two words or two sentences. So any word joining two words or two sentences is said to be 'conjuction' .

Rama and Lakshmana are brothers.

Rama or Bheema will play in today's match.

Sitha reads well and she also writes well.

Gopal studied hard, yet he failed in the examination.

In the above first sentence the word ‘ and ' joins two nouns i.e. Rama, Lakshmana. In the second sentence, the word ‘ or ' joins two words i.e. Rama, Bheema. In the 3rd sentence, the word ' and ' joins two sentences -

(1) Seetha reads well.

(2) She also writes well.

In the last sentence the word ' yet ' joins two sentences

(1) Gopal studied hard

(2) He failed in the examination

So‘and', 'or', 'yet all the three words are conjunctions.

Words denoting the sudden feelings are called Interjection. The feelings may be by pleasure, sorrow, fear or wonder. So an interjection is a word which shows sudden feeling.

Bravo ! we won the match. (Pleasure)

Hurrah ! we have won. (Pleasure)

Alas ! the baby fell into the well. (Sorrow)

Oho ! the child is shivering by cold. (Health)

In the above said sentences, 'bravo, hurrah' both the words denote happiness. In the 3rd sentence ‘alas' resembles (sorrow). In the 4th sentence ‘Oho!' denotes the feeling of fear. So “bravo, hurrah, alas, oh," all the four words are interjection.

Kannada Text-to-Voice Speech Synthesis

speech meaning kannada

Language code: kn-IN

Convert Kannadatext to speech and download audio.

Kannada is a Dravidian language spoken primarily in the Indian state of Karnataka. Approximately 44 million people speak Kannada as their first language. It has its own script, known as the Kannada script, which has been in use for over 1,500 years. This language is also spoken by communities in other Indian states and in neighboring countries such as Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

This language Often referred to as 'Kanarese' or 'Kannanaḍa', this language has a unique phonetic structure.

One of Kannada's distinguishing features is its pronunciation. The language has a comprehensive system of vowels and consonants. Its phonetics, grammar, and articulation make it distinct from many other Indian languages.

Vowels: Kannada has a set of 13 vowels. The pronunciation of these vowels can be short (ಅ, ಇ, ಉ, ಋ) or long (ಆ, ಈ, ಊ, ಎ, ಏ, ಐ, ಒ, ಓ, ಔ), with the length playing a crucial role in word meaning.

Consonants: Kannada boasts a comprehensive array of consonants. They are categorized based on the place of articulation: labials, dentals, retroflex, palatals, and velars.

Anusvara and Visarga: The 'ಂ' (anusvara) and 'ಃ' (visarga) in Kannada have unique pronunciations. Anusvara produces a nasal sound, while visarga adds a breathy sound after the vowel it follows.

Stress: In Kannada, stress typically doesn't change the meaning of words as it might in English. However, the lengthening of vowels plays a crucial role in the meaning and pronunciation of words.

When synthesizing Kannada speech, understanding its nuanced sounds is paramount. With tools like SpeechGen, the conversion from text to speech takes into account these intricacies.

speech meaning kannada

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took the podium at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday to discuss the issues within President Joe Biden's presidential term.

The Republican National Convention is in Milwaukee through Thursday where former President Donald Trump on Thursday will formally accept the party’s nomination for the 2024 Election.

USA TODAY and the USA TODAY Network have nearly 40 journalists on the ground in Milwaukee and you can   follow along with our live blog for updates throughout the day .

RNC 2024 live updates: Sam Brown takes the stage; Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis set to speak

What to know about Ron DeSantis:

DeSantis won the race for governor of Florida in 2018, with the help of an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, after representing Florida's 6th District in the U.S. House from 2012 to 2018.

A staunch MAGA conservative, DeSantis a culture warrior in the same vein as former Trump.

Before entering the Republican primary, he was widely seen as an avatar of, and then a possible alternative to, Trump but he dropped out of the race in January after a disappointing performance in the Iowa Caucus and brutal personal attacks from Trump, which went largely unanswered.

DeSantis came in third in terms of Republican primary delegates, with 9, compared to Nikki Haley's 97 and Trump's 2,268.

"Our border is a disaster, crime infests our cities, the federal government makes it harder for families to make ends meet, and the president flounders. But decline is a choice, success is attainable, and freedom is worth fighting for," DeSantis said in announcing his presidential run in 2023, summarizing some of the key points of his platform.

On Tuesday night, the theme remained largely the same, but this time Trump was named as the person who could stem the tide: "We need a Commander in Chief who can lead 24 hours a day and seven days a week," he said. "America cannot afford four more years of a Weekend at Bernie's presidency."

When and where is the Republican National Convention?

The Republicans' convention will take place over four days, from July 15-18 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The  Fiserv Forum ,  home of the Milwaukee Bucks , will be the  main venue  for the RNC.

There  also will be events  at the nearby University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther Arena and the Baird Center.

Ten things to know from the King's Speech

Find out what the King's Speech means for you.

speech meaning kannada

This year’s King’s Speech focuses on creating wealth in every corner of the country, and improving the living standards of working people.

We’re bringing in more than 35 bills and draft bills to enable economic growth – including a Bill that enforces tough new spending rules.

The package of bills will focus on growing the economy through speeding up the building of houses and infrastructure, improving transport, creating more jobs and securing clean, green energy – helping to make every part of the country better off.

New laws will also help to create wealth in every community and hand power back to local leaders who know what is best for their areas.

Here are ten things to know about our new programme of legislation, and what they mean for you.

1) Kickstart economic growth

We are making sure nobody can play fast and loose with public finances – and that we avoid chaos which leaves families with spiralling bills.

A new Bill will strengthen the role of the Office of Budget Responsibility, meaning significant fiscal announcements must be properly scrutinised and that taxpayers’ money is respected.

And we will introduce a Bill to ensure the National Wealth Fund will make transformational investments across the UK.

2) Get Britain building

We’ll get Britain building, through planning reform, as we speed up the delivery of high-quality housing and infrastructure.

This will help provide more housing across the country and support sustained economic growth.

We will also give more rights to people renting their homes, including putting an end to unfair no-fault evictions, and reforming grounds for possession.

3) Make work pay

Our Employment Rights Bill is a significant step towards delivering this Government’s plan to make work pay – the biggest upgrade to workers’ rights in a generation.

We will ban exploitative zero-hours contracts, end fire and rehire, and introduce basic employment rights from day one.

And through our changes to the Low Pay Commission, we’ll make sure the minimum wage is a genuine living wage.

4) Hand back power to communities

New legislation will help to create wealth in every community and hand power back to local leaders.

We’ll introduce a Bill to move power out of Westminster and back to those who know their areas best - giving local leaders the tools they need to drive growth.

New laws will give more powers to metro mayors and combined authorities, helping support local plans that bring wealth to communities.

5) Provide better transport

We’ll put our rail system back on track with new laws to deliver for passengers.

New laws will improve the railways by reforming rail franchising, establishing Great British Railways and bringing train operators into public ownership.

And we’ll introduce a Bill to allow local leaders to take control of their bus services.

6) Make Britain a clean energy superpower

We’re committed to making Britain a clean energy superpower by 2030 - helping lower household bills for good over time.

A new Bill will help set up Great British Energy, a publicly owned clean-power company that will help boost energy security, create jobs and build supply chains in every corner of the UK.

We’ll also introduce legislation that helps unlock investment in energy infrastructure, supports sustainable aviation fuel production and strengthens the water regulator’s powers.

7) Strengthen our border

The government will strengthen the border with a new Bill that modernises the asylum and immigration system, including launching a new Border Security Command.

The command will deploy more police and investigators to smash the criminal smuggling gangs, tackling the problem at source. The Bill will give law enforcement new enhanced counter-terror style powers to destroy the evil business model of human trafficking.

8) Take back our streets

We’ll introduce laws to strengthen community policing, giving the police greater powers to deal with anti-social behaviour and strengthen support for victims.

New laws will improve the safety and security of public venues and help keep the public safe from terrorism, and we will bring forward plans to halve violence against women and girls.

9) Break down barriers to opportunity

We’ll take action to raise educational standards and break down barriers to opportunity.  This includes measures to help people back into employment after the pandemic and a Bill to raise standards in education and promote children’s wellbeing.

We’ll end tax breaks for private schools - funding 6,500 new teachers – and set up Skills England to make sure we have the highly trained workforce that England needs.

Our plan also includes reforming the apprenticeship levy and setting out work on legislation to enshrine the full right to equal pay in law.

And we’ll launch an independent football regulator to ensure greater sustainability in the game and stronger protections for fans.

10) Improve the NHS

Our government will take steps to improve the National Health Service for everyone – including reducing waiting times and focusing on prevention.

We’ll improve mental health provision for young people and make sure it’s given the same attention and focus as physical health and we will modernise the Mental Health Act, so it is fit for the twenty first century, ensuring all patients are treated with dignity and respect.

Our plan includes introducing legislation to help stop young people smoking and vaping, and to restrict advertising junk food to children, along with the sale of high caffeine energy drinks to children.

Amazing post. 🙂 Though I was thinking, it’d be immensely helpful if all posts on this website could follow a uniform standard for transliteration. For example, in ‘chandranantide’, I as a non-Kannadiga have absolutely no way of knowing if the ‘t’ and ‘d’ of ‘nantide’ are soft, dental sounds (like ‘tota’ and ‘davai’ in my native Hindi), or retroflex sounds (like ‘tamatar’ and ‘daantna’ in Hindi). Some websites choose to use the capitalized ‘T’ and ‘D’ only for the retroflex sounds, and the dental ‘t’ and ‘d’ for only the dental sounds. Maybe something like that? (Aka, nantide, nanTide, nantiDe, or nanTiDe, likewise) My nit picking aside, thank you for putting this up! 🙂

…and the *lower case ‘t’ and ‘d’ for only the dental sounds. Apologies!

Cardinal Pierre: Address to Eucharistic Congress - full text

Praised be Jesus Christ!

I am happy to be with all of you at this national Eucharistic Congress, an historic celebration for this country.  Thank you, Bishop Cozzens, for your tireless work in leading this Eucharistic Revival.  Thank you, Tim Glemkowski and the members of the leadership team, and all who have helped prepare for this Congress.  I pray that your hard work of service may be rewarded with a consoling encounter with Christ during these days.

+     +     +

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I come here as the personal representative of the Holy Father to the United States.  As such, my being here is a way to express the Pope’s spiritual closeness to you, and his unity with you and with this country.  As the Second Vatican Council teaches: “The Roman Pontiff, as the successor of Peter, is the perpetual and visible principle and foundation of unity of both the bishops and of the faithful.”[1]  What a gift this is! What a gift this is, that we can be united as a Church through our Holy Father. At the same time, what brings us together at this Congress — the Holy Eucharist — is also an immense gift for unity. As St. John Paul ii said, “The Eucharist is the sacrament and source of the Church’s unity.”[2] We don’t need to look for unity somewhere else, but in the Eucharist.

Perhaps our main prayer for this Eucharistic Congress should be this: That we, as a Church, may grow in our unity, so that we become more fruitful in our mission. This was the prayer that Jesus made to the Father on the night when he instituted the Eucharist: “That they may all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me.”[3]

In order to realize this unity which our Lord desires us to have, I think it can be useful to return to a basic question.  (Often, the most basic questions are the most important!) The question I would like to reflect on is this: What is “Eucharistic revival ”?  And to make the question more personal: How will we know that we are experiencing Eucharistic revival?

Over the course of the last couple of years, we have been part of a tremendously well-organized effort to focus the minds and the hearts of Catholics on the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.  We have made this effort in our parishes, in our dioceses, and now on a national level — all of which has been building in a kind of crescendo up until now.  At all levels, we have seen increased opportunities for adoration and benediction.  There has been catechesis on the Eucharist and, of course, processions. By displaying the Blessed Sacrament for worship and increasing our acts of devotion, we have drawn attention once more to this great Sacrament in order to “stir up” a renewed faith, both in our fellow Catholics and in ourselves.  We have even attracted the curiosity of people of other faiths.

And to be very clear: All that is good!

But to return to the original question: What is Eucharistic revival ?  We know that such revival, while it is always accompanied by sacramental devotion, must extend beyond devotional practices as well.  When we are truly “revived” by the Eucharist, then our encounter with Christ’s real presence in the Sacrament opens us to an encounter with Him in the rest of our life.  This means seeing Him everywhere we go.  It means meeting Him in the interactions we have with others.  Not only is He present in our family, friends, and communities; but He is also present in our encounters with people from whom we would otherwise consider ourselves “divided”.  This might include people from a different economic class or race, people who challenge our way of thinking, and people whose perspective is informed by experiences that differ greatly from our own.  When we encounter such people — and when the competitive logic of the world urges us to become defensive — Christ is present to be a bridge.  Christ, the firstborn of all creation, wants to be a bridge between people who are members of the same human family: people who are children of the same Father in heaven, and whose destiny is to be united in love within the same eternal household.  If we are experiencing true “Eucharistic revival”, then one of the signs will be a greater movement on our part to build bridges of unity.

Why does our engagement with the Eucharist impel us toward unity?   Because, when we celebrate the Eucharist, we experience the One who built the first bridge, who crossed the distance and made Himself one with us, and even when we were separated from Him.  This is the One who is with us, making Himself present in the complex but concrete realities of our daily lives.  And so, to believe in the real presence of Christ is not only to say: In these forms of bread and wine are His body, blood, soul, and divinity .  Of course that’s true!  But Christ is also present in the assembly of His believing people.  Not only that, but he is present to people who struggle to connect with Him because of wounds, fear, and sin.  We need to be there with Him, accompanying such people, and helping them to experience the real presence of Christ’s love.

Adoration, is essential to our relationship with Christ — but it is important that we treat it as that: a relationship .  If, in the act of Eucharistic adoration, we were to look at the Sacrament merely as an “object” to be admired, then we would be remaining, as it were, “on the outside”.  To adore Christ is to relate to Him.  Pope Benedict explained: “The Latin word for adoration is  ad-oratio — mouth to mouth contact, a kiss, an embrace, and hence, ultimately love. Submission becomes union, because He to whom we submit is Love. In this way submission acquires a meaning, because it does not impose anything on us from the outside, but liberates us deep within.”[4]

Upon relating to Christ in this way through adoration, we can also relate to others in a way that reverences the presence of God in them.

I remember, my mother telling me, you know, in the Church, when the Blessed Sacrament is brought from the altar to the tabernacle, people stand up. Do you stand up when your children, your friends, even your enemies have received the Blessed Sacrament in themselves? What is the difference?

This, then, is what it means to live a truly “Eucharistic life”.  The adoration spills over into our daily life: our life of relating to others, our way of seeing others.  When we are actually revived by the Eucharist — let us say, transformed by the Eucharist — we do not remain the same as we were. When we do receive Christ, not just outwardly and partially, but inwardly and fully, then we begin to see differently .  We see with the eyes of Christ; we see reality with His eyes.  We think differently, because, as St. Paul says, “we have the mind of Christ.”[5]

Eucharistic revival, then, must involve pastoral conversion. You remember Pope Francis speaking about pastoral conversion. The problems that our mission of evangelization must confront are not problems that we can solve on our own.  How to deal with modernity, how to love the person who thinks differently, how to overcome division, and how to face suffering: these are not problems with human-powered solutions.  It is only God’s power that can heal division, redeem suffering, and speak a saving word to those who are captured by deceit.  God’s power comes to us in the Eucharist.  But we can’t be agents of God’s power if we insist on seeing the same, thinking the same, and controlling God’s gifts. This is the worst. We pretend to be the master of the game. We have to let ourselves be possessed by the Spirit of God, and go where the Spirit leads.

Let’s be honest. Let’s be honest. We, all of us, we are afraid to go where the Spirit leads us. Is that not true.  Maybe this should be the main fruit of the Eucharistic revival. To be a people animated by the Spirit. A people able to listen to the voice of the Spirit. You remember when Pope Francis speaks about synodality, he says, the first step is precisely that: Listen to one another and listen to the Spirit in the person we listen [to]. The fruit of the Eucharistic revival.

Let us all pray for true Eucharistic revival.  May this revival open our eyes to the ways that Christ is living and operating in the reality before us, and may it impel us to join Him in His work.  I encourage you, during your adoration these days, to let the Lord reveal to you any places of resistance. You know what resistance is. We have all, all kinds of resistance. You know, we would like to, but no. Pope Francis speaks about remaining in our zone of comfort. Even, you know, our Church could be our zone of comfort, isn’t it? It’s ok, I don’t agree with you, but I’m comfortable with my opinion. We need time to think about that. Often, we resist the work of Christ when we are afraid to let go of our own understanding and control — afraid to allow His wisdom and power to lead.  But the Eucharist is a gift from God. We don’t fabrique the Eucharist, we receive it. But by surrendering our reliance on our own certainties, our own plans, our agendas… You know we have all agendas, and we are clever enough to follow our agenda, and to convince ourselves that our agenda is better than the agenda of God. Because God has no agenda. God loves us. And He leads us by Love. Not to manipulate us. Not to achieve His agenda. He is the only one who can lead us to new life. By following Him, we can become true apostles of His Kingdom.
