13 Best Presentation Websites in 2024

A computer showing the 13 Best Presentation Websites in 2024

Presentation websites are applications created to present information as a slide show. Slideshows are presentations that comprise charts, images, videos, and the standard text. They ensure that data is displayed clearly, summarized, and readable to the audience.

Slideshows work best when presented on a projector or a big screen. Intermittently, some users might print out slide shows as documents, but this is ill-suited for that purpose.

Any presentation tool must have three fundamental functions:

  • ‍ A text editor: to input the contents of the presentation.
  • ‍ An import function: to insert and manipulate images and other content.
  • ‍ A slide-show or presenter mode: that displays the content in a nice, formatted way.

Slide shows often consist of a combination of text, video, images and charts. Their primary function is displaying clear, readable and summarized data to an audience.

Most presentations are shared and presented on a larger screen or through a digital projector. In rare occasions, slide presentations are printed out as a replacement for text documents, but this is a really inefficient way to review data, that Garr Reynolds calls ‘ PresDocs ’ (Garr Reynolds is the author of Presentation Zen, one of the most important go-to reference for successful presentations).

When looking for the best presentation apps, there is a need to consider not just pitch decks but also school lectures, religious sermons, and adverts. Therefore, an excellent presentation app should be affordable, have enough sharing and collaboration options, have a range of pre-built templates, and be flexible.

Visualization in presentations

A presentation without visual aids can be very boring. It's hard to remember things if they are just words on a page or screen. But with visuals, people retain information much better. So, ensure you have some great images to help your audience understand what you're talking about.

Consider using infographics if you want to add some spice to your presentations. Infographics are visually appealing ways to present complex information in a simple way. They can include charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, timelines, etc. Many online tools are available to create them, including Piktochart , Visually, and Canva .

How do I create a presentation without PowerPoint?

Numerous alternatives to PowerPoint are on the Internet. The issue is not about creating a presentation without PowerPoint but getting that presentation tool or software that can help achieve your goal.

While many tools offer free accounts to peruse and utilize online and offline presentations, some do not. This does not mean the free tools are not good, rather, it is just a marketing idea.

What can I use instead of PowerPoint for free?

Here are some presentation tools you can make use of instead of PowerPoint;

WPS Office boasts functionality and a well-designed, along with offline document capabilities. Sometimes accused of having very similar features to Microsoft Office, users can efficiently work on PowerPoint files. It also offers many templates. However, collaboration might be a bit stressful.

WPS Office is available on Android, Web Windows, iOS, Linux, and macOS.

If there is one thing Canva has, it is templates. Canva makes PowerPoint look simple with a vast array of templates for every specification. If you have a problem with making decisions, do not use Canva.

However, that is its Achilles heel; many people find themselves scrolling for so long. Not all templates are free but, it helps narrow down your options.

Without a doubt, it can be stressful to get that one presentation software that can fit your exact specifications and give the required output. Although utilizing Slidebean can be very flexible, it can also be use to produce the best infographic presentation that compares data in an easily-understood manner.

Choosing the Most Suitable PowerPoint Alternative for You

When talking about the best possible alternative to PowerPoint, it all comes down to what you’re looking for. While each of the presentation software we’ve presented in this article has its pros and cons, some might work better than others depending on the use you’re planning to give them.

The best free PowerPoint alternative

If you’re looking for a free presentation software that can do pretty much the same thing as PowerPoint, then Google Slides is definitely the best !

Google Slides workspace is pretty similar to PowerPoint, making it easy to work with for those who are already familiar with this type of software. It also has the added bonus that you only need a free Google account to gain access to it and, of course, full integration with other Google Workspace software.

Some PowerPoint features, like complex animations, for example, might not be available for Google Slides. However, other features like real-time collaboration compensate for it.

Another option for a free PowerPoint alternative is ZohoShow . Its mobile apps will allow you to create and edit your slides on the go with pretty much the same design options as PowerPoint.

The best PowerPoint alternative for enterprises

When talking about PowerPoint alternatives for enterprises, you should look for software that truly elevates your presentations and offers the most with their paid plans.

Beautiful.ai is a great option for enterprises looking for presentation software options . Its AI doesn't only help you design outstanding presentation slides, but its smart tools will help you create more presentations in a more efficient way.

If your focus is sales-oriented content, then you can’t go wrong with DigiDeck . Its advanced analytics and integration with CRM tools make it the perfect option for sales presentations.

The best presentation software for team collaboration

If you need a PowerPoint alternative that will allow different people to work together on a single project, you also have several good options.

Google Slides' real-time collaboration can work wonders for teams that need to go back and forth on the same document. Its free plan allows you to add several different collaborators to your workspace, which is also a plus.

Visme’s collaboration workspace is also worth checking out, as its organization and commentator options can be a huge asset for teams that need to work together on a single document.

The best PowerPoint alternative for e-learning and training

When talking about presentations for e-learning and online training, making them dynamic and didactic is key. That’s why some of the best presentation software alternatives for educational purposes are Powtoon and Vyond.

Powtoon offers a wide array of customization options for its animated characters, making it easy to develop your brand voice and identity. And Vyond’s character lipsync feature will help you make your presentations and video feel more seamless.

If you’re looking for an e-learning PowerPoint alternative, you might also want to check out Emaze . It features options to add questionnaires and exams to your presentations!

The best PowerPoint alternative for small businesses

For small businesses looking for PowerPoint alternatives for their presentations, it might be useful to hire software that also offers them a wide array of design options beyond just slides. That’s why Piktochart or Canva can be great presentation design options for small businesses .

Their both offer a template library that can be used for a whole range of design tasks. And their paid plans feature brand options that will help small businesses create a sense of unity between their different visual channels.

Hopefully, this PowerPoint alternative list will have offered you a good option for your presentation design!

However, there’s one thing they all have in common: whichever option you pick, you will still have to invest time and effort in creating presentation slides. So why not forget all about presentation design? 24Slides can take this time off your hands while you focus on more important tasks. Just sit back and relax while our professional presentation designers do all the heavy lifting and convert your slides into a true work of art!

Emaze Review and Overview

What is emaze.

Among the craze of online platforms for presentation creation, Emaze is a younger edition in the market that has achieved a very positive response from users worldwide.

They pride themselves as providers of most user-friendly interface, along with 100s of free templates, which may even come in 3D format.

It is estimated to have completed over 80 million presentations on its cloud interface. Along with their extensive presentation creation services, they have also kept their users busy with content creation items like websites, blogs, albums, and online E-cards.

Among all these, Emaze flaunts that they possess 50 million users. And comparatively, this presentation maker has genuinely achieved the top strata of the market very quickly since its dawn in 2012.

How Does Emaze Works?

Well, the working of presentation software is not something that is to be researched too thoroughly. Like every other cloud presentation maker, Emaze offers ready-made templates, themes, graphics, objects, etc. and helps in creating a presentation.

Emaze works on HTML5 editor. It supports the creation of all the content mentioned above and that too, along with collaborative features. We can even import the PowerPoint Presentations into it and edit them here.

One of the most exciting features of the Emaze is Automaze. This is an automatic website generator that offers direct content collaboration from sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.

It does so by using preset templates and creating content from social media threads or stories. Overall, this is another popular product by Emaze.

Other than the above info, Emaze offers several features like automatic translations, offline access, audience insight analysis, privacy controls, branding and custom URLs, and multi-format downloading.

Therefore, Emaze shines duly with the glossy graphics, novice-friendly UI, tons of templates based on presentation needs, and adding as many as objects into the presentations.

Emaze genuinely works like a charm in most cases. Although it still needs to incorporate advanced transitions, animated objects, and making the cloud UI bit faster. Also, the privacy issues related to free accounts need to be addressed too.

5 Free (and Way Better) PowerPoint Alternatives

' src=

We, along with our bosses and our co-workers, have been seeing the same slides, text effects, and animations from MS Office PowerPoint for the past 10 to 15 years. A phrase has even been coined as a result of PowerPoint ennui:  DEATH BY POWERPOINT

If you are not in the business of assassinating your organization via boring slides (we know that you’re not THAT kind of office ninja), take a look at the following 5 presentation alternatives. Did we mention that these websites and apps are free and simply “way better”?

Interactive. Online. Beautiful. Canva is a website that allows you to create slides with built-in high resolutions images, vectors, and text effects. Many of the backgrounds and other design elements are free, but the premium design elements may cost you a bank-breaking $1.00. It is a user-friendly tool, and when you sign up, they even offer you an interactive tutorial. Share your slides via link faster than your boss can demand a PowerPoint on a flash drive.

For an in-depth tutorial about Canva from your favorite office experts (#NinjaLife), click here.

Powerpoint Alternative - Bunkr

Cloud-based, responsive, and downright pretty templates are the draw of this online presentation website. Emaze makes creating attractive and dynamic presentations easy by providing you with free, pre-made templates. Just populate the templates with content and graphics, and then you’re ready to amaze your boss with your emaz-ing creation (see what I did there?). In the event their free package is not enough for you, their highest tier package offers unlimited space and sharing, as well as a host of other handy premium features (like offline viewing and privacy controls), for only $9.90 per month.

Dive right into emaze with our step-by-step tutorial (written by yours truly)!

4. Slidebean

Powerpoint Alternative - slidebean

If you are a no-nonsense ninja, then Slidebean may be your presentation medium of choice. Stressing the idea that “less is more,” Slidebean is a highly content-oriented platform that can be displayed on any browser and on any device. It is significantly less graphic intensive than the other PowerPoint alternatives, allowing it to be easily viewed and shared. In other words, no more excuses from people who claimed, “I couldn’t access the presentation… [insert null complaint here].”

5. Google Slides

Powerpoint Alternative - google slides

This may alarm you, but you may have held the secret to creating compelling slides ever since you started using GMail. If you have no idea what Google Drive is, you HAVE to visit your Google account NOW. At the top right hand corner, you will see an icon that looks like nine itty-bitty squares. Click it and visit Drive. Once inside your Drive, you will be able to create presentations with Google Slides . Although the interface and design options are PPT-esque, Slides allows you to share the presentation easily via link or attachment.

Coming Soon: Microsoft Sway

It looks like Microsoft was aware of DEATH BY POWERPOINT too. Although their Sway presentation application is still in development, its concept is to bring together many different mediums- YouTube, social media, image databases, wikis, etc.- and offer drag and drop functionality that allows you to integrate them into your presentation. It looks promising, and we’d love to see where Microsoft decides to take this idea.

Hey Ninjas, and readers alike!

We’ve been working on a way to get presentations to become simple with a bunch of kicking ready made PowerPoint slides.

There is no new tech to learn, and no zooming Prezi headaches, just a lovely design loaded platform to build up a presentation from the slide library, then download the whole thing right into PowerPoint :D

I know we’re not free at the moment, but we do have a lifetime subscription option! Imagine never having to battle with PowerPoint again…

Hi, I just need to create a slide show for my husband’s 40th birthday party with some music and be able to play it on the tv. What is the best program for me to do that? Thanks.

' src=

Thank you! I HATE PowerPoint, but I’m having to create presentations for school and working on doing some screenshare-style videos for business purposes, so none of the concerns other commenters have mentioned are relevant for me, but being able to make non-ugly slides without jumping through too many hoops IS. There are some really great-looking options here!

Yes! We love non-ugly slides as well ;) Let us know which you use and how those presentations turn out, Rachel!

' src=

Have you heard of Niftio (I’m the Tech Lead for that project)? It’s a rather new presentation software. Here’s a quick sneak peak: 1. dozens of designer made templates to make it easier to create a presentation 2. use of any mobile device to control your presentation while delivering one 3. audience q&a to receive feedback & questions on your topic in real time. And much more Take a look https://niftio.com

Nope, not yet, but it’s nice to meet you and your software, Cristi! We love checking out new ways to do old things better :)

Presenter Club seems interesting. It focuses more on the speech aspect rather than slides. But I find it really quick to make slides with it. It is free: https://www.presenter.club/

Thanks, Sam! Free is always good ;)

Hi! Nice post :) However, why isn’t Genial.ly included? I think it should when it comes to PowerPoint alternatives… It’s online, it’s free, and it’s really easy to use. I love it for presentations, infographics, posters. Seriously, it’s a great tool. Here: https://www.genial.ly/ Bye!

Hi, Please try Academic Presenter as well. It is a free Prezi-like (slide-based + canvas-based) presentation software but offline. You don’t need to be connected to internet always to present your work. There are several tutorial video on Youtube.

These programs BLOW AWAY Powerpoint, but how reliable is their functionality when it comes time to actually project your slides in a room full of people? How many times have we all seen a presentation go down in flames because the hardware was not playing well with the presentation software?

' src=

It happens all the time, and it really sucks for all the parties involved; it’s embarrassing.

I have absolutely no problem with Prezi, using or viewing.

What about Canva? I’m worried about that very same problem for a presentation I have coming up in October. My Canva slide deck won’t open on Powerpoint, only on Windows Media Viewer. I’ve tried asking Canva Support about this but it’s always the same vague answers that provide NOTHING usable. Anybody know the best way to display Canva in a presentation?

We did find a little info on some options from Canva, which you can find here: http://bit.ly/1JKlp3N

' src=

Thank you so much for the post! very interesting!

Glad you liked it Wendy – let us know if you test any of these out and which ones are your faves!

' src=

These are all very appealing alternatives, and I could see using one or more for externally focused presentations (i.e. marketing, sales pitches). I would be very interested to learn the level of information security offered on each of these platforms. If a presentation contains internal-only or sensitive information, how is that data secured (if at all)?

Great question Laura – we’ll do some digging and let you know!

' src=

Prezi is a nice alernative. It has both, a free and a pro version.

We’re absolutely fans of Prezi as well – our only complaint would be it takes a bit to learn how to use it – but learning it DEFINITELY pays off!

' src=

Do you guys know any others student-friendly, where you can easily delete your account if needed? That would be really helpful! Thx!

Also, if you have any suggestions can they be just websites, not like, desktop apps? We need something to be easy, because this is for remote learning in Covid-19.

5 Free Online Alternatives to PowerPoint

While PowerPoint is still the go-to software for many people when creating presentations, it does have its limitations, especially when it comes to editing a PowerPoint presentation on an iPad or collaborating with others. While some of these issues are addressed with Office 365, you do have to pay for the privilege.

There are lots of online alternatives which let you create great looking presentations on any device. Storing them in the cloud means you can work on them wherever you are as well as easily share with others and embed into other websites.

They may not have the flashy animations of PowerPoint, but that’s not a bad thing!

Here are 5 of my favourites.

1. Slid.es Slides allows allow anyone with a web browser create and share beautiful presentations. It uses HTML 5 and so should work on all devices. You can arrange main slides horizontally, with additional slides running vertically. It’s free to use, with additional paid-for features if you like it.

A big thanks to Mark Allen ( @edintheclouds ) for making me aware of Slid.es

slides

2. Emaze Emaze is a another simple to use presentation creation tool. Again it uses HTML5 and so should work well on any browser – including tablets and chromebooks. It’s free, and well worth a look.

3. Prezi Prezi lets you create very engaging presentations that pan and zoom from page to page. You can create non-linear presentations quite easily. Prezi lets you embed images and video too. You can view the presentations that you have created online, and also download them in a Flash player format to play offline. There’s also a Prezi app for iPad . It looks great, but I do know some teachers who feel seasick when they see a Prezi presentation!

4. Google Presentations If you use Google Docs (Google Apps/Drive) then you should already be aware that it has a pretty useful presentation tool. You can create a presentation from scratch or upload and convert an existing PowerPoint. The strength of the Google presentation tool is that many users can collaborate on a single presentation, such as these crowd-sourced examples from Ideas to Inspire .

5. Empressr

Empressr is a free online storytelling tool that allows you to create, manage and share rich media presentations online. Upload your video, images and audio to get started creating cool slideshows. If you have your own website, blog, or social networking page, you can either post a link or embed your Empressr. Empressr also has charting and table tools.

There are many other tools out there, let me know your favourites in the comments below!

I’m a PowerPoint fan and I kind of hate Prezi because it is to messy to look at. I love Emaze but you have to pay to download your presentation. There’s an add on called PPT flex or something like that that turns your powerpoint into a canvas similar to Prezi, I like that too.

TL; DR: Emaze is a site-building and presentation application that allows entrepreneurs to create content across a broad range of formats and platforms. It offers hundreds of professionally designed templates, and enables users to create, share, and analyze their content from a single dashboard. And Emaze leverages HTML5 technology, which requires no design or website-building experience. Its tools allow creators to publish web pages, live social media feeds, and photo and video content. Today, Emaze has more than 50 million users, and its products have helped create more than 120 million pieces of digital content. //

As creatives and entrepreneurs become more accustomed to digital technology, they increasingly want to showcase their content online. That includes websites, social media platforms, online video repositories, and even offline presentations. They also may want to take content created for one medium and repurpose it for another without building it over each time.

Repurposing presentation content for website-building, and vice versa, has traditionally been a time-consuming task. That’s because elements created in one system may not be compatible with those created in another. Repurposing web content on social media accounts can introduce additional hassles, especially for digital learners.

Emaze logo

Emaze addresses that dilemma with presentation and site-building tools to simplify repurposing content across disparate platforms and channels. Its cloud-hosted SaaS solution is designed for digital content creators, and it has more than 50 million users worldwide.

Emaze launched in 2013 as an alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint, but the company has evolved to reinvent many precepts of presentations and content creation. It expanded its services to include customizable websites, blogs, and photo albums in addition to core presentation and webpage design. Additional features include 2D and 3D slides, pan and zoom transitions, animation, sound effects, and in-depth analytics.

Emaze tools leverage HTML5 technology to eliminate the need for coding knowledge or website-building experience .

“When Emaze launched, there were already millions of people using presentation tools,” said Lahav Tsafrir, Emaze VP of Sales. “Back then, it seemed like only a small portion of users knew how to build impressive, engaging websites and presentations, and the rest desperately needed a helping hand. Emaze is that helping hand.”

Users Don’t Need to Recreate Content for Different Sites

Emaze was established as a software venture in 2009 by Motti Nisani (CEO), Dr. Arie Livshin (CTO), and Shai Schwartz (VP Product). It formally launched as a commercial product in 2013. According to Lahav, the founders aimed to provide a standalone presentation tool — available outside a licensed software suite — that gave users the flexibility to republish presentation content in other software contexts.

They also saw an opportunity to develop a presentation application that could meet the needs of both business and individual users. Today, Emaze counts Coca-Cola, Daimler, Hilton, Hyundai, Kraft, Mercedes Benz, and Unilever among its corporate users. It also has a strong following of individual creators who use its tools to create an expansive web presence.

Screenshot from Emaze website

“Emaze’s goal from the very beginning was to change the way digital content is created,” Lahav added. “These days, content creation software should be about offering more to help people share their content wherever they want to.”

Lahav said Emaze’s vision is to enhance digital content creation and bring it to new levels in line with developments in digital technology and user requirements. Recreating content several times so it can appear in documents, webpages, and social media, has become a burden for all types of users. Lahav said the dilemma has become apparent as more people want to create and share their content.

Three Account Tiers Include Free and Business Plans

Emaze is available via three main account models — Basic, Business, and EDU, which is available to customers in the education sector.

The company offers three pricing plans within each model. Its Basic package includes a free option with a limited feature set, while the Pro level offers more features and costs $13 per month. The multiuser Business Plan provides a more robust feature set and includes training and support. Businesses can contact Emaze for pricing.

Emaze tailors its Business package to workplace users. Within that package, it offers the Pro Plan ($13 per month) and the Executive Plan ($40 per month). The Business Plan ($125 per month) includes five user licenses and collaboration features so teams can share edit access and work on projects together.

The EDU package caters to educators and institutions. Its plans include EDU Team ($198 per month), EDU Pro ($9), and a Student option ($5). All Emaze Plans are billed once a year.

“Emaze makes it easy for educational professionals to create interactive lessons that keep their students ‘zoomed in’,” said Lahav. “With Emaze’s out-of-the-box templates, even technology-challenged educators can build digital lessons that combine text, sound, and video to make the most of distance learning — including for students with special needs and learning disabilities, as required.”

Emaze currently serves Tulane University, James Madison University, the University of South Florida, Tel Aviv University, and the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Feedback Loop Helps Adapt Software to User Needs

Emaze allows digital content creators to design in a variety of mediums, including website-building, ecards, blogs, photo albums, and presentations. The software also provides businesses with options for TIC (Training, Info/Survey, Certification), sales enablement, and elearning creation.

Users can create and manage all of those iterations from a single Emaze dashboard.

“In terms of our most-used content creation tools, they are still the presentation and website builders . People sometimes ask me what my personal favorite aspect of Emaze is. From my point of view as the company’s VP of Sales, it’s our new Enterprise Suite solutions with TIC Council,” Lahav said. “That’s our training, info/survey, and certification toolkit, which allows enterprise users to engage prospects at scale.”

Screenshot from Emaze website

According to Lahav, that feature allows Emaze to approach an unlimited number of markets. As a result, he said it should quickly become the most sought-after tool on the platform.

With such a user-driven solution, feedback is another critical element in Emaze’s product development process.

“I’d describe Emaze’s internal development process as quite unique. Customer feedback is very important to us, and we take it seriously by listening to our users and adapting to their needs. But at the same time, since Emaze is at the forefront of the content creation industry, we also have to ensure that we are also getting ahead of our customers’ needs by anticipating and spearheading the next trends.”

Easier Content Creation Improves Business TCO and ROI

Emaze distinguishes itself from other online presentation platforms with its simplicity, professional looking templates, and content creation tools. It also enables novice users to share content across different media and platforms.

“Emaze’s most effective benefit is that any customer can get a much better experience through a user-friendly content creation platform,” he said. “That enables a faster and easier way to create digital content. In simple terms, it helps users save time and money, especially for business users. Emaze improves both total cost of ownership (TCO) and return on investment.”

These benefits will prove beneficial moving forward as Emaze strives to consolidate its strong position in a competitive global market. According to research firm Absolute Insights , companies are upscaling their tools for managing business presentations as they prepare for a post-pandemic world where more sales and marketing pitches take place online.

If those projections hold, it will likely attract new software providers keen to claim a slice of that revenue.
